I'm happy to be out of the house, but not happy to have carried the baggage with me to work.

My extended family is feuding and it's become increasingly more difficult to distance myself.

Mrs. WI is rooting for the underdog in a battle she has no business being in.

- I just ate some delish noodle soup for lunch from the takeout joint around my way and the best part about it was that it was cheap ($2) and still piping hot when I got to work.

- I saw a pretty, gamine, red-haired girl on the subway today coming to work. Her hair was cropped short and close, like Mia Farrow's back in her early 20s. Inspired my creative side.

- My work e-mail is all wonky with my incoming mails and I have to go call IT now to see if they can un-fuck it. Hate it when this computer crap happens, but nothing runs perfect all the time, no?

I made it home safe and sound

I did not get robbed when I had to transfer trains in West Oakland

I get to sleep in my own bed tonight :line:

1. Got poochie to the vet and back.... he has an ear infection. Can't say he enjoyed me putting the drops in his ear when we got home.

2. Very happy that they were able to find out what was wrong with my little buddy and get him on the road to recovery.

The nurse made about 6428 holes in my left arm and only found one drop of blood. My right arm had plenty, thankfully.

- So glad I didn't go to that goodbye party last night. I really did not need to go and didn't feel like going even moreso. Now I'm fresh and clean in the morning and my wallet is intact for some lunch later on. In the future I'm going to skip more of these things and just say no to going out for unnecessary obligations to people that don't matter in the long run and situations that don't affect my life for the better.

- My company's annual holiday party is this Friday. It'll be a free eatin' & drinkin' blowout, so I'm keeping myself on the down low and doing a high-veggie, high protein steak diet until then to get myself primed for "dancing drunk weight."

- I got tomato rice soup and a feta cheese salad wrap for lunch today. I'll eat the soup now, save the wrap for later when I get early-evening munchies.

- At the Au Bon Pain downstairs in my company's building where I got my lunch, I noticed this tanned, slightly-curvy-where-it-counts blonde woman dipping soup next to me. She had on some low-cut, cyan-colored stretch tank-top underneath her grey hoodie emphasizing her thick bustline. I took my time getting my eats in order to check her out from my peripheral vision, and when we both finished getting our stuff, I let her go ahead of me in line just so I could look at her denim-clad ass.

- I went over about $200 on my budget trying to take advantage of seasonal discounts and general partying with other people...now I have to go frugal like a monk for a bit to catch up...hate it but things could be worse

- There is nothing more I want today than to leave work, go back home, crawl into bed and enjoy a good (dirty) book whilst listening to music until I fall asleep. The only thing I would want more than this is to find a money sack of unmarked bills or to have a naked Diora Baird waiting for me when I get home, but neither of those are likely to happen (albeit not impossible) so I will settle for the completely logical former.

i drove around town in our new-to-us minivan today. way cool but dang! that thing is big.

my boy has the shits. 20+ diapers today and his little bum is all bloody and sore. every time I wipe it, he screams 'cause it hurts so bad, which has brought me to tears a few times (i really do not like causing him pain...no really, I don’t :D) but it's better than a staph infection. :p

i found it’s not so easy to explain the christian god and my beliefs about religion to a 5 year old who now gets all kinds of info from school-mates. i hope i didn't do any permanent damage :D

1. I had the best voicemail message this morning from a guy I hadn't seen in forever, telling me how wonderful the kids and I looked in our Christmas card photo.

2. I spent my entire lunch hour hunting down two Nintendo DS Lites for my sweetie's sons. Fortunately, persistence pays off. :)

3. I was shocked to find I won a chance on Amazon.com to purchase a Nintendo Wii system. Since we've already had our Christmas, that puppy's going to ebay. ;)

* Finally heard back from my doctor on the biopsy results from my test of last Tuesday. More damn prescriptions to take. Could've been worse though.

* Got Christmas card from best friend's sister with a bunch of pics of their two little girls. They are soooooo damn cute!

* Put 12.4 gal. of fuel in the car. The owner's manual says it holds 12 gal. Was sort of sweating it out on my drive back home.

1. I'm having a lot of trouble getting into the mood for the holidays so today I decided to stop trying. I turned on my fave alt. rock music to finish baking by. I decided to go ahead and miss the people who are not with me. I am accepting that my kids got outside gifts (bikes,skateboards,scooters) and there is a 90% chance of rain Monday.

2. My oldest is helping me with the cookies and it's one of the few things he will tolerate me for at his age. I've made 6 kinds and I'm scrambling to find more to make so I can keep him near for even just a few more batches.

- I'm not really feeling the holiday. Not being a total Scrooge or anything, but everyone else around me is able to enjoy things I can't right now, mostly because of time, space and money. Tourists and crowds are annoying me, holiday marketing is already overkill, getting sick sucks, having to work extra pisses me off and I have to make sure I meet rent at the end of the month...so I can't go crazy like I'd like to...now, I appreciate what's going good for me and all that, but I'll appreciate it more after January 2nd when everything's come back down to eye level and days are just "days" instead of "events."

- Meeting old coworkers who came into town later tonight for drinks...I love these guys, but for the reasons above, I'm not going to get into it as much as I would've if things were different. Plus, they chose to meet at the company watering hole in Midtown, where everything is fucking expensive. If I were still two days into my sickness I could've signed out of it.

- I sound like I'm a total grouch, but all I really want/need is some space away from the negative-generating energies...until I brush some dirt off my shoulder and can enjoy some time out in the places I enjoy like I like it.

I managed to be productive and get in some lusty, dirty picture-style artwork this morning before coming to work, despite being lulled into blissful slacker complacency underneath my warm bedsheets for yet another hour.

The noodle soup I got from my neighborhood takeout joint for lunch today is loaded with red chili oil. They know I like my stuff spicy, but they were pretty generous with the stuff this time. I'm starting to break out into a minor sweat.

Scallops are suddenly becoming my new crack. It's called either hotate or kaibashira in Japanese and is very very tasty in Asian-style tapas or gourmet dishes. Order yaki-hotate if you ever see it on a menu and you're not allergic to shellfish. I got the cheaper fried Chinese cousin version at the takeout joint and I'm making them my alternative to cheap fried chicken wings (my previous crack.)

I saw Perfume: The Story of a Murderer and Pan's Labyrinth yesterday and they both thrilled and enraptured me, putting me in a better state of mind from the gray, cold, morose day that tried to bring in a depressive, unproductive mood.

I had fun hanging out last night after the flicks and I did my best not to go too crazy even though it's just my one free day out of the week to be crazy, but I'm looking forward to being sober and "pure" again. I don't get things accomplished after I enjoy my liquid vices and I need to keep the forward momentum I started after New Year's going.

I didn't get my laundry done this morning like I wanted to because I came home after 7 a.m.!

My bosses don't know what they want to do when they "grow up" and their indecision is driving me nuts.

I just got out seeing "The Queen" at the Angelika and I was surprised at how much I personally liked it. I should feel stupid that I paid good money to go see "Epic Movie" because it was REALLY bad and not that "bad-in-a-good-way" bad. But I kinda KNEW it was going to be bad...and I ended up enjoying it somehow, for reasons I can't quite figure out.

I've got a minor buzz from drinking last night. Now I'm purifying myself with lots of water and orange juice.

I can't get this woman I sat next to at the bar last night out of my brain. She was cute, short and deliciously deep-cleavaged. I sat down one chair away from her just to give that personal space and then less than five minutes later two of my male friends unexpectedly show up and sit on either side of me, chatting me up. I found myself angry at them because not only did I initially want to drink alone, but upon seeing this woman, all I wanted to do was chill quietly and snatch glances at her wonderful bustline instead of talking bullshit to their drunk asses. Transmitted my erotic energy (relative horniness) into creative productivity last night instead of sleeping my eat & drink off as I used to in the past. It's very difficult to shake lethargy when it's freezing outside and your bed is nice and toasty warm, so I'm in good spirits for climbing over the hurdle of sloth.
