Some pretty heady thoughts there. I've seen it more than once and still find a lot of details I've missed in the past. The book was helpful for me to be able to ponder a bit. I am pretty sure it is still a stock item at most Nobles book stores.

Yes, that’s really a web address.:) lol It will take you to the right page, then you can look around. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s definitely not a single view set of taps. You can find other things Moyer has done that I found interesting. ;)

Oldfart,
Permit me to also recommend the videotapes. I think that you will get even more out of them if you additionally read the book. It permits him to explore at length some topics that deserved more time than they received on the small screen.

This is the summary of one of the "taps" (sorry, had to make fun of PF's typo):
A landmark series that captured the imaginations of millions of public television viewers, The Power of Myth is an exhilarating journey into the mind and spirit of a remarkable man, a legendary teacher, and a masterful storyteller. In this series of conversations with Bill Moyers, Joseph Campbell pursues his conviction that mythology defines and guides our lives and our culture. Reaching back into early history, Campbell claims that heroic adventures were a part of all world cultures, then challenges viewers to see the presence of a heroic journey in their own lives. He explores the enduring myth of death and rebirth, the rite of passage in primitive societies, the role of mystical Shamans, and the decline of rituals in today's society. His subjects range from the changing images of women to the concepts of God and the role of sacrifice in myth. Titles are: "The Hero's Adventure," "The Message of the Myth," "The First Storytellers, Sacrifice and Bliss," 'Love and the Goddess," and "Masks of Eternity."
If I may ask, what did you folks enjoy about Mr. Campbell. I had never heard of him (and I'm Canadian - we eat this shit up!)

His voice soothed me like Mr. Rogers, and Dr. T. Berry Brazelton :D.
His knowledge about civilizations and their beliefs, cultures, and the innermost quests just astounded me.
