Lilith started the human tricks thread and I wondered if we had a pet one!

I know Pixonians love their pets and I know my dog and cat are eccentric and would love to hear your crazy animal stories.

My cat likes to drag around an old suitcase to lie on. He also likes sitting in the sink when the tap is dripping slowly. Unfortunately, he also pees in the tub.

We have an old futon that the animals sleep on and you have to beg my dog to get up on it. He sits in front of it and looks at you. You say, "Go on, get up. Go! Get up!"

Sometimes, it takes several minutes of begging before he'll get up there.

My dog also waits for the cat to nibble at his food before he'll have any. Bear in mind, the dog is 110 pounds and the cat is 10 pounds.

Maybe your dog is paranoid? When the cat survives a nibble, he knows it's safe to eat! ha ha

I taught my cat how to roll over. Does that count? Not sure if that's a good example of a stupid pet trick or a stupid owner trick. ha ha

ROFLMAO Sharniqua! Our cat is good at that trick, too. Solon, the dog, follows me everywhere in case I leave the house. Wally, the cat, follows me everywhere so he can bite my legs.

My Taylor likes to break the blinds so he can lick the strings. Forget catnip just give him some blinds.

He breaks the blinds? Just to lick the strings? I don't understand this eccentric cat!

Oh, don't get me started. I could talk you ear off about the antics of iguanas in general, and mine in partucluar. everything from attacking mirrors because they don't like the "other" iguana to deliberately crapping on their owner's bedsheets because they didn't like what the owner did to them, like change the carpeting.

If I do start for real, I'd end up writing a novel, so I'd better not.

Start, gekkogecko, start! My animals are weird and everyone's animals are weird. Tell us the stories :)

I used to ride a friends horse (Retraining, cause he was a nut case as she put it....soon found out he was actually unbroken and terrified) that had a semi fetish (death wish)

I would be riding along perfectly calm....he'd hear a semi coming and would walk out into the middle of the road....no amount of yelling and rein pulling would stop him...once he'd got the truck to stop (and the driver extremely pissed) he'd walk off the road...a bloody dangerous habit i can tell you!!

He was the stubbornest, ugliest, unluckiest horse i've ever known....but he had a heart the size of Oz and was a darling

Wow, Sharni. I think that horse and I could really get along.

:D

My mother-in-law's dog rings the doorbell when she wants to come inside. She summons them nightly.

:D

Yes. Taylor is a mighty weird kitty. He breaks the blinds, sits in the window and licks the strings all the while purring. When we move we have to replace all the blinds cause he broke them.

I had a black cat who died in 1998.But he used to sit n his hind legs and rub his paws together to beg at the table. What surprised me was,I didn't teach him that. Not really a stupid trick,my cat was very smart.

My Tasha reaches up while on her hind legs and taps you on the shoulder, when you are sitting, to get your attention.
