or do you give away the good stuff on Halloween? What kind of treat you gonna trade for my trick?;)
I always go for chocolate. My weakness, however, is buying things I LIKE!!! My hope is if I have the kids out long enough doing our own trick or treating that we won't have enough time left in the evening to give it all away!! Am I bad or what???!!
Forgot to mention what it is I do buy....
Snickers, M & M's, reeses, nerds, Smarties (great for my youngest in church, if there are leftovers), twizzlers, mounds and anything else dark chocolate if I can find it!
My clothes hate this holiday!!!!!

I always buy the good stuff... I am in an apartment complex and never get any kids (in 6 years of living here). But just in case some kids were to come around they are going to cash in big time. I always make a point of hanging out at home to hand it out... just in case. I hated the dark houses when I was a kid
After that it's the folks at work that cash in on the goodies. I used to really like the sweets but some metabolism/blood sugar issues as of late dictate that they are on the no-no list. On the good side, I lost 10 pounds by cutting simple sugars out of the diet :)

I'm moving to Australia! :)
My b/f buys the good stuff but eats them and has to keep refilling the stock! He loves the mini bars - Snickers, Mars, Twix, Skor, Crispy Crunch, Crunch . . .
(I wonder how many of those are strictly Canuck bars?)

I used to manage industrial property and had a tenant that distributes snack foods. Chips, pretzels, all that stuff. We gave out snack sized bags of chips & cheeto's. The doritos we kept. ha ha
Ever since we moved, with a 400' driveway, we don't get any visitors. :(
Doesn't stop us from buying the snacks though. ha ha

Well a two edged questions from Lith. Well for the children before I go out (Hallween is on a Friday this year), a mix of hard candy and chocolate.
But if indeed Lith came to my door and asked, "trick or treat" perhaps a matched pair of sapphire or garnet earings.

We make up goodie bags of a pencil, a (microminimidget) notebook, a stencil, and 2 pieces of candy.

We never hand out, because we usually don't get in ourselves till after trick or treating is done. To make up for it in the past, I've always sent in goodie bags to my daughter's class. They usually had a pencil, a couple of cheap halloween things like spiders rings and fake fangs, then instead of candy, I'd put mini granola bars and fruit snacks in each bag.
I figure that the kids get enough candy and junk between trick or treating and class parties, they don't need it added to.
This year, though, paychecks came wrong, so we're broke for the class party. I did however volunteer up a cake for the cake walk at that evening's halloween party. Apparently, her school does the carnivale in the fall, instead of spring like her old school.
We plan to take the kids out to the college dorms (well light, inside, LOADS of doors to knock on) around 6, go through until about 7, then head over to the hallloween party. I must be nuts. ;)

My daughter's a teenager, and figured out a couple of years ago that people generally didn't like teenagers knocking on their doors asking for candy. So, she started treat-or-tricking instead.
We go around to people's doors:
Us: (knock!)
Them (Open Door)
Us: Treat or Trick! Have some candy!
Them: What?
Us: Oh, you don't want any candy? Then you have to come to our house and toilet paper it!

LMAO@gekkogecko!
We get less and less kids each year, it seems! But, that doesn't stop hubby from buying loads of candy! He says he's got to start on his winter weight! Arrggggggggg! Right now we have a less than full bag of mini's.......ie: Butterfinger, Baby Ruth, and Nestle's Crunch......and a separate bag of Smarties (they're mine I tell ya!) So...we'll have to re-up before Friday!

I buy the good stuff. :D
But................. I buy stuff that I don't like so that I don't eat it.. Then I take the excess to work and watch it disappear in one day.
