or run track or swim or play soccer or football...... you get the jizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt;)
What sports have you been involved with and when? Are they ones you play/do currently or back in school days?
Back in my school days I was a cheerleader and kept stats for track and football. What about you?

I was on the swim team my freshman year of high school...but didn't stay with it any longer due to those God-awful early morning practices...I don't know how I did it!
I wish I had stayed with it competitively...regret in hindsight, as usual. ;) But I still do love to swim!
Synchronized swimming in junior high, gymnastics in high school and rowing team in college. The rowing coach told me I could do a lot with "those thighs".

I love to swim but don't do it often enough. I also like aerobics/yoga etc but, again I don't do that often enough either!
Really have to get back to doing more exercise (for the sake of my health if nothing else).

I used to play Cricket when I was at school and I loved it, don't get chance to play now.
I play FOOTball on and off at the weekends and I used to play for a company I worked for.
I've had a try at golf and it's great but takes too long I don't think I could ever put enough time into it really.
I played Tennis at school that's a funky game but far too hard for me!
I played Rugby ahhh now there's a sport lots of big sweaty men hugging and rolling about in the mud hehehe.
and down to less physical "sports"
Shooting I won a couple of competitions for air rifle shooting, done a little clay pigeon shooting and some target practice with big rifles.......probably nothing compared to the guns you get in America free with your breakfast cerial but here in the UK it can be a bit harder to find them :D
Snooker I love that game I was a member of a snooker club and used to go a couple of times a week while I was a student it stopped me doing stupid things like studying!
and finaly fishing......I know not everybodies cup of tea but I love it.....straight forward course fishing for roach, rudd, bream, carp, tench and anything else that feels like having a nibble on my maggot. I've spent 13 hours just sitting at the side of a pond watching and listening to everything around me it's very relaxing. Although word of warning if you're going to spend 13 hours sat infront of water in the hieght of summer on one of the hottest days you can remember slap on the SUN BLOCK!!!!.......I didn't :( my hands and arms were swollen for a few days I looked like Popeye! Maybe I shoulda painted some anchors on my forearms LOL
anyway that's my sporty stuff listed think I covered everything :D:D

Back in the day I tried to play football in HS. That is how I messed up both of my knees. The only two things that kept me from being a super athlete was
1- too small
2- too slow
All in all I would probably do it again.

This is an interesting thread because it shows the differences in the sports of different areas/countries. We didn't have a football team, for example.
I played soccer, volleyball, baseball, basketball and was a band/drama/student council geek.
I played soccer up until a couple of years ago when my ACL was torn during a game. I'm still debating playing again.

I played tennis and ran indoor & outdoor track all through high school. I try to jog when I have the time, but lately I don't. Now that the weather is turning, and it's staying light later I will get back into it though.
I've practiced martial arts since I was 6 and still do.

And wait just a cotton-pickin' minute, IAKG and Steph!!! Band=Geek...I was in band and we "ROCK"ed. :D

Highschool ~ Archery, Tennis, Softball, Golf, Gymnastics, Volleyball... and even though I am not very tall, I dabbled in basketball for a while (till I realized Doreen Love was gonna stomp me every game cause she was 6'2" in 11th grade!). Then I took up being a hippie! LOL!
*EDIT* Oops! I forgot to add that I played in the "Juniors vs. Seniors" Powderpuff Football Game. The one and only year in the history of my highschool (to date) that the juniors beat the seniors! The reason? Yes there was a plausible excuse!!! Our senior class president made the senior girls some "special brownies" in his family living/cooking class that very day! Hmmmmmmmmmmm??? Sabbotage? Because he was dating a junior? We think so...but we'll never know cause he won't tell!
Now ~ Skiing, Scuba, Hiking, Fishing, Swimming (when I can...wish I had a pool *sigh*), Billards *Bar or regulation Pool*...never tried Snooker FussyYummyPants...but I'd give it a try), gardening (you don't know how much exercise that is till you have an acre to garden).
I also kept score and stats for my ex-husband's slow pitch softball team. I loved seeing the faces of the players when they found out their "hit" was judged an error! Talk about "IF LOOKS COULD KILL"!
Great thread Lilith!

So did we...some of my best high school memories, including a trip to Orlando and marching at halftime during the Citrus Bowl. Wouldn't trade it for the world. :)

I'm athleticly challenged. :p
I kept busy in high school with show choir and doing a lot of set-painting/stage managing/backstage stuff for the school musicals.

Lessee.... I did little league for a year, bowling for a few awful weeks (I just don't have the bowling gene in me), Dance classes for a few years in the elementry years, and then for years again in the late jr high, high school years. There was also about 6 years of gymnastics, 2 years of doing the hurdles and high jump in track, and a year of cheerleading.
I -think- that's all.

Played football, my first love. I also ran track: quarter mile run, 4x4 relay, and hurdles (high and intermediate).
Now I just play golf. I also run and lift weights to stay fit. Proud to say that I am 38 and my waist is only 2" bigger than it was in high school (32 vs 30)....and I like beer!

I've played all the major sports. Foortball, basketball, baseball, Soccer...played some tennis too.
If bowling counts I'll beat anyone out there. ;)
Does chess count too? It makes your head hurt...
I came from a VERY small town and we were the big town in the area, so we basically had just the major sports - competitive only for the guys teams ... girls were intra (or is it inter) mural .... but I played basketball, softball and volleyball ... still volleyball is one of my favorite sports to either play or watch.

We were so small we did not even have volleybal:p^^^
We didn't either really ... that was a church league ... well, actually so was softball ....
Did the "then", and forgot to do the "now". Nowadays will find me walking and hiking, volunteer master gardening which includes, but is not limited to...very large shrub-chucking, face-dancing with assorted cactii, pick axe and auger breaking, and my favorite...weed-pulling. Aside from that, my 4 dogs keep me from sitting down or resting more than 10 minutes each day. I love to swim, but there's no place to around here.

I was in swim team, marching band (yes, it's a sport when you carry a 30 lb tuba!!!), and gymnastics (for two years) in high school.
Now I lift weights, golf, do Pilates, and am a Stairmaster addict! :D

In high school I was on the Cross Country team, the swim team, and the sailing team.
Currently I jog, hike and sail. Swimming only if it is really hot, or if it is a hots spring.

Now... chase three kids and go for the occaisional walk.
Sorry for the following UN PC comment, but we called band geeks in our school band fags.... and I loved partying with them because those girls loved to finger instruments!!!

Cricket and baseball in local competitions (reasonable standard though), just finished cricket season and starting baseball season soon. Baseball took a bit of a dive since I damaged tendons in my rotator cuff pitching, don't know if I'll be able to pitch again without surgery, but I can throw a bit still. Used to play basketball locally too, but I was never any good and stopped growing early which didn't help.
