View Full Version : Stupid things you do on a regular basis

Steph

I never get dressed immediately after I shower. I lounge around, clean, nap, etc. au naturel.

For some reason, I usually cook nude, too.

The oil was sizzling, the onions were thrown in . . . why do I endanger my breasts like that?

I know I'll be doing it again the next time I make a stir fry, tho'.

What stupid things do you do over and over putting you in contention for a Dawin award?

moi? Do something stupid? How DARE you insinuate such a thing!

My cookware can go from stovetop to oven, and I love that it can. The only bad part is that when I take it out of the oven...the only real place to put it is on a burner. Well...when I am ready to serve, my eyes see a saute pan on the burner and my hand grabs the handle faster than my mind remembers that it just came out of the oven. HOLY CRAP is that not pleasant!

Once in awhile, I'm smart enough to think to myself "I'm gonna burn my hand" and stick an oven mitt over the handle. The rest of the time...well, it keeps me from pleasuring myself! :(

I know better, but I never carry cash. My friends keep yelling at me because I'm never prepared that way. Recently I took a 5 day trip with only $5 in my pocket, and that's because a family member gave it to me when I was on my way out of the door. The worst part is that I always forget to post my ATM transactions.

I also never have a tissue. I have allergies and I'm a crybaby, but I never carry a tissue.... duh me.

LOL wyndhy ..... I remember hearing on, of all things, Hollywood Squares ..... years and years ago .... that 1 in 5 females have problems (dyslexia) with right/left .... I remember it because I'm one of them .... people can tell me to turn North, South, etc. and I know instinctively which way that is, but right and left, I have to actually do a writing motion with my hand to know which is right or left, and that only stays will me for a minute or two ... if I'm consciously working to remember it. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! :)

I've seen the treatment for that fzzy and wyndhy.:)

In the early phases of Basic Training there is always a couple of “cruits” that have that problem when first learning to march. Our Drill Sgt. would spot a “SHIT-BIRD” that turned left when he should have turned right. If he was dumb enough to say he “got left and right mixed-up”, he was given a bucket of sand (est. 30-40#) to march with. After carrying that around for a day, they seemed to remember “RIGHT FACE” was toward the hand at the end of the longer arm. LOL (it worked for them ;) )

Ranger1930

I've never really hand an issue with figuring out which way is left or right...

I know you guys all think that there is an easy solution to the right/left thing ... I've spent 40+ years trying any number of gimmicks to remember ... but it is truly a mild form of dyslexia and isn't really curable ... my dyslexia shows up at other times, mainly when I'm very tired ... red and green get mixed up in my head - doesn't sound like a big issue, but when you drive where there are street lights, IT IS! :) ... also some numbers get switched in my head ... 4's for 7's (or vice versa) is my most common one.

OK, I know, that was WAY too much information! LOL

I always run right on time. I allow myself just enough time to get somewhere. Apparently, I just can't be early. I'm rarely late, but it gets to be nerve racking to make it in the nick of time.

BTW...I also have to remind myself about right and left quite a bit. I can only wink my left eye, so whenever I have to give directions ect, who ever I'm talking to probably thinks I'm winking at them or that I have some sort of nervous tic. LOL

PF...I love the sign!! LMAO

When writing, posting, messaging, talking, etc., I say too much. I feel--whether true of false--I feel like I constantly blert something out that I wish I could take back two seconds after hitting "submit reply." Case in point, in the thread "Please help me with an avatar," I submitted one too many posts, got all weird again. Perhaps a more relevent example is this post, one I probably ought not submit.

My only defense is that I'm addicted to Pixies. Truth. My wife has been out of town all this week and will be next week also, and I have spent maybe 80% of the time clacking away on this keyboard.

I've got pretty much the same affliction. Seems as if I'm the classic "nice guy" who finishes last when it comes to relationships but I wouldn't ever consider changing myself. When it comes to my relationships, I'm sort of like Charlie Brown trying to kick that football. Although I know otherwise and fully realize how unwise it is to expect even a small portion of the joy that once was, still the stupidest thing I do on a regular basis is get the hell up every morning and walk into another dismal day.

Ya, I'm very depressed now guys. At the risk if being branded resident Pixies nut case (although that label has no doubt already been applied), I shouldn't but will share that things in my life have gone downhill since my stupid *said with a snide and mocking tone* "Thank You I'll Stay" post.
Have any of you ever found youself regretting a life path you ought to have taken thirty years ago? I hope to shit you never do. It sucks. A direction I ought to have taken thirty years ago, that is, being gay and living with a transexual, has climbed up out it's burial I gave it in the darkest hole I could find within my pathetic self thirty years ago. Some monsters never die; they just get very angry at having been buried alive.

Why am I saying this here? Don't I have friends to talk to? My one friend is someone I met here a month or two ago. No, I have isolated myself away in the woods and in a normal life hoping my deamons couldn't find me.

You all have been so kind and helpful in the past. Please, if it is not asking too much--although I think it is--could someone please write something to me? I am so confused, and daily asking myself if this is the nervous breakdown I always suspected was less than a week away. Much to my dismay, it seems that being nearly 53 has nothing to do with thinking clearly, or with just wanting to be a little boy crying in the corner. I hate myself for being this way, but it is what is.

Am I glad I hung around Pixies? Yes. Thank you in advance. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

SHUT UP LARRY!

I hereby open the Let's All Support Larry club. You can kick youself in the but later for having supported a fool that just crashed and burned his whole damn life away.

I'm sorry. That was bad to say. You are so sweet. I believe I know I need to leave my marriage and live the life I should have been living all along, but I don't think I am able to do that. Options: 1) drug myself until I die, 2) kill myself now. You and Stef are right. I will post a request for advice.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by "...do you have any idea how much some of us need to feel supportive of someone?" Do you mean that some of us (you) need to feel supportive of someone else or need to feel support from someone else?

(((((((LarryL))))))) I think that living to a certain age seems to bring with it regrets from choices made years before ..... some big and some seemingly irrelevant to anyone but ourself. Sounds like a pretty big regret you have to deal with .... but there must also be many things that you have done in the last 30 years that have brought you to be the outstanding, caring, giving, empathetic man that you are and may not have become without the situation. The past will always have regrets and missed opportunities attached to it, but there is aways today and tomorrow and all the tomorrows to come where you can start the process of moving to a different place in your life, either to approach the existing situation differently or come to a decision to change the path that you have been on ... either way, it seems obvious to me that you will not do so on a whim, but rather with well reasoned thoughtfulness and do the best you can to keep the damage minimal in your life and the lives of those who are close. Feel free to PM me if you need to unload. :)

Beer freezes and sometimes it's just a slushy foam for a long time.

That's what microwaves are for, right? :D

I've never had a microwave! I've lived with people who have had them & I use one at work but have never paid for one for myself.

My cats food and water bowls are located in the storage room under the stairs.EVERYDAY! without fail I stand up after giving him food and slam my head on the slanted ceiling. It's been almost 2 years and I still do it atleast 3 times a week.

Stirfrys, salads, beans . . . things that don't need a nuker. I can cook with a nuker when the time is right, though!
