Catch22

Our old friends have posted on a website that, 'Australia will run with blood' if we do not pull out of Iraq. Now I do not understand that these creatures can make websites and chat to the press. Yet nobody can find them to deal with the sods???

Meh. Coupla things:
1) Has it actually been verified to be from 'our old friends'? Just about ANYONE can put up a website these days.
But of course, as soon as someone does we should always run around hysterically.
2) That's their job. It's what they do. They wouldn't be much of a terrorist organisation if they spent their whole time sunbaking in Tahiti, would they? They are spreading TERROR by making us believe we're all gonna die because we're very bad people.
3) We CAN find them - that's why we invaded Iraq. They're all dead now.
4) If we DO die, then that's it. We're dead - casualties of war. Hope it doesn't happen - PRAY it doesn't happen, but don't be surprised when it does. This is the world we've created. It's not good, but it's the only one we've got.
5) By even acknowledging their message, we're giving them small victories. If you change your lifestyle in any way, they've won. Their sole mission is to stop you being who you are because they've decided that they don't like you for whatever reason. So DON'T crawl down to the basement and sulk, DON'T vote for a mad senseless war because you're paranoid, and DON'T expect everyone to have the same morals and beliefs as you. Be tolerant, be respectful, have a normal, happy life but remember to always think of those less fortunate and do what you can to help them.
That's what it's all about, in my opinion.

PS Ok, yep, I've done it again - I went and posted on the most emotive topic around these days. If any of the Mods deem this too insensitive, offensive or inflamatory then please, delete it ASAP and I'll humbly subject by backside to Lilith for a damn good spanking. Just voicing my opinion, not meaning to offend or belittle anyone at all.

No, I think you made good points (not that I'm a mod so maybe Lil should spank you :D).
I just heard on the radio that the Phillipines have pulled out to avoid having a Filipino hostage killed. Spain left the war after the horrible bombings & the report I heard says it will only make the militants in Iraq more determined.

Can't I just spank you regardless????
I have serious feelings about the war but no matter what those feelings are, I strongly feel that negotiating and giving in to the demands of ANY terrorist group is counterproductive. I'm sorry that brave men have lost their lives, I'm sorry that innocent people lose theirs too, war is ugly....and available 24/7 on CNN and many websites. It's the publicity and hatred that feeds these groups. Two things which there is a never ending supply of.

Amen!In my opinion,Lilith, was right also, but I don't know how to enter 2 quotes! In my opinion,if you give in to them once, they will expect you to do it
again,so you don't do it once.I may be wrong,but that's been my feeling,for
ALL,of my life & so far it has worked.I can ,at least,go to my grave, knowing
that I've NEVER backed down from anything!I have the scars to proove it!

Indeed you are all right. I do not know about the US, but Australia and the UK have laws now that if you make 'hate' sites you can go to jail. I am with the US as I think most Aussies would be as well. It appears from what has come out this week that Iran was a big player in the terror attacks on the US to. What a mess!!
