OMG yes I do...... "Careless Whisper" by Wham at the 6th grade dance at school--now that I look back it was so dorky...we were like a foot apart and all my girlfriends were giggling at me. Hey, atleast I had someone to dance with!

What's bad is I remember this silly dance and I can't remember me and my husband (then boyfriend's) first dance. :(

Lil, you and I grew up in the roller-skating era...lots of slow songs at the rink...the first song I can remember slow *dancing* to, though, was my freshman year in high school to Journey's "Faithfully."

"Hotel California" from the Eagles......8th or 9th grade. The cool kids thought it would be funny for the non-cool kids to have to dance to a request made over the PA system. Course none of the cool kids were out there dancing to a great song, their loss. And the non-cool guy I got to dance with ended up filthy rich, bet those cool kids are not laughing now!!!

I don't remember the name of the song, but I remember that it was at the 9th grade Christmas dance, and I remember the boy. While we were dancing, "they" came along and held the mistletoe over us and I politely turned my head so he could kiss me on the cheek. What was I thinking??

My first slow dance was with a pretty girl named Melissa (I had a big crush for her) at our dance class. It was wonderful! Her natural fragrance was overwhelming.

I remember the dance (Saint Patrick's school...weekend dance...we called it Saint Pat's)...I remember the guy...Roy Forbes (long hair...badass...he's dead now)...and I remember it was an oldie (an oldie to me...not you guys born in 1986 and up...lol!). But I can't, for the life of me (at this time in the AM), remember the song!

I'll get back to you on that one...

It was "Tonight's the Night" by Rod Stewart. It was nightime, there was a thunderstorm and the electricity went out. He lit a couple of candles, and turned on the radio. That song began to play.....we began to dance. I haven't thought about him or that night in years.

I think mine was "wind beneath my Wings" ~ homecoming, freshman year of high school. And he's still my best friend. :D

i can't remember the song but i'll think on it and maybe it'll come to me. i do have a clear picture and i remember this: (flashback) picture a roller rink, rainbow bright squares packed the carpeted floor littered with limp french fries, a hundred or more pre-teen-somethings milling, preening, flirting in front of the bright lockers, thick and smokey stale air (more than half those pre-teen-somethings were holding a marlboro and deperately trying to look cool), disco ball lights circling around those brave enough to skate on that gleaming floor... COUPLESSSS OWWWWWWN-LEHHHHHH!!... and we skated, and it was the first time i ever remember being close to a boy and almost choking 'cause my heart was beating too hard in my throat and my hands were so shaky and i sooo knew i was gonna get kissed in the hallway to the bathrooms. but i stuck a hand in his back pocket anyway and he stuck one in mine, and we went 'round and 'round and i just kept thinking in my head 'dont' fall...dont' fall...dont' fall'...(i didn't!) and we ragged on mrs. mahalsky (our seventh-grade english teacher) and he smelled like toothpaste.

ahhhh, nostalgia.

I remembered...I remembered! Halfway through the day yesterday...it just came to me! I am so proud of myself...cause it was driving me crazy!

The first song I slow danced to (with Roy) was "Ooooh Baby, Baby" by Smokey Robinson. Roy requested it to appologize for a silly fight we had earlier that day.

And...TY WI! I remembered that after I logged out yesterday too!

Can't remember the first slow dance or who it was with, but when Mr. Sprinkles and I were dating our favorite song to slow dance to was "Crystal Blue Persuasion" by Tommy James and the Shondells. Another particular favorite, and it's still "our song", was "Old Fashioned Love Song" by Three Dog Night.
Brings back lots of good memories. Wish we'd dance again. It would be one way to get him to hold me again. :(

The first I can remember with my wife was "Only You" by the Platters. Love that song, although "Unchained Melody" is probably my all time favorite.

"Faithfully" by Journey. It was in 6th grade with a girl named Amy. She asked me to dance and I was in a complete state of shock for the entire dance. LOL

I can not remember my first slow dance. I do remember that all dances ended with either 'Hey Jude' or 'Stairway to Heaven'. I remember the first time I waltzed. We had been given one lesson. I spent most of the time either counting of looking at our feet. It was not a pretty sight. At the end of the dance we stayed out on the floor and danced again. She said some very nice / encouraging things to me because at the time I did not even feel like I had two left feet. Thank God grace comes with age.

"Your Song" by ELton John. Tim was teaching me to SCUBA dive, with tanks and all the paraphenalia, in the apartment block pool. I was 16 and he was 17. He had to get special permission from the management to use the pool. It was in the late afternoon. The song was playing when we came up for air. We just looked into each others eyes and kind of "waltzed" around the pool. The kiss was wonderful. Thank you for triggering a good memory. A nice warm fuzzy.
