Just thought I would let you all know what crazy's we got running around here.
This woman has made the headlines. She is selling her unborn baby on ebay for $1mil australian.
I personally think it's disgusting.
Would appreciate what you all think of this......

In WA a woman is selling the right to name her baby on eBay and another is taking bids on using her pregnant belly as advertising space until the baby's due date. But I see nothing about eBay allowing the sale of a live infant. Would love to read it Mark...

I've seen headlines about a couple in Perth also auctioning the right to name their baby and advertise.

Well ebay pulled her post off as it was deemed inappriate/offensive. So you won't find it there. The couple in WA are only selling the naming rights of the child.
I saw the story tonight on "a current affair". Now from what I saw, she is going to sell the baby to a corporation so they can use it as advertising for their products. The mother's reason was so that she wouldn't have to live off welfare benefits. And also so that her child has a secure future.
As I said before, I'm looking for a link, but can't find the story anywhere. I think it was deemed offensive and so never made it to the net.

This is the only thing I can find. I can find nothing anywhere about a live infant being sold. Only advertising rights or naming priviledges. You would think if someone was selling a real infant it would have made the news on the web somewhere. I checked the "A Current Affair" website and can not find mention of it listed in any of their stories either.

I still for the life of me cannot find anything on this alleged baby selling
It is illegal here too....and she would have been charged and jailed if found guilty
The WA/Perth one is for exclusive naming rights to their unborn daughters first name only for 5 years

I'm pretty sure this is the case your thinking of......she was not selling the baby...just the naming rights

Yeah that's the one. Sorry just the way they did the story made it sound like they were selling the kid. Either way I still think it's disgusting.

I dunno....just think
After 5 years your family can change the daughters name and be 1 million better off....not too silly an idea to me
Disgusting....hmmm nah...have you seen some of the names the [b]parents[b] give their kids now days...a corp/business name wouldnt be too far out there *L*
