Well, what do you think, fellow Canadians?

It is none less than I expected and I predict there will be another election just as fast as this one occured.

I am sure the conservatives will promptly try to take away gay marriage and make having an abortion more difficult.
Big business will once again be given big tax cuts and of course we will have to pay for it.

We may see the privatization of health care with the middle class and those in lower incomes suffering for this.

I imagine GWB is quite happy to have someone who aspires to be like him leadiing the governing party.

Harper makes me nervous....it's his eyes LMAO You won't find me looking into them!

The NDP cleaned up in my area.

I have to say, I voted Conservative...the Liberals are just a joke, and the NDP in this area will never be able to gather enough support... not to mention that the candidate in my riding is not very strong... I mean I love Alexa McDonough and all...but she works better as a thorn in the gov't's side than she would as the government.

And I have to admit that overall, the conservatives are a little sexier than everyone else...have you seen Peter McKay?

To me all politicians are just vessels of political rhetoric....nothing more and nothing less. I can't say I find any politician sexy, handsome or anything else appealing due to the bullshit they all spew. I guess I am jaded lol.

Anyway the liberals and the NDP could form a coalition government and then Martin will stay PM.

I'm happy with the results. The NDP won 10 more seats than last time. Best case scenario is the middle- & lower-classes see some tax cuts while the NDP ensures health care stays the same. Win win?

Yes the Conservatives won but only with a minority government.

What do you think a Conservative government will mean for Canada?

But with the beautiful intricacies of a minority gov't, Mr. Harper can't do too much.

I'm celebrating because it's a non-Liberal minority! Woot! Chretien ran the gov't however he wanted for almost as long as I can remember . . . 12 freaking years!

To me, this reminds me of kindergarten class when we all had to get along. :) All four parties will be negotiating out the wazoo & the Green Party will likely have a say, too!

This really bodes well for our country, I think.

(Don't quote me on that last line. I think I just jinxed us!)

We shall see Steph....I too, am thankful that it is another minority government.

Money talks. All of the parties are so in debt that they can not afford to call an election for a while. I think they also know that Canadian's would be really pissed if we headed back to the polls within 3 years. Steven will walk lightly.

I agree with Steph, I do not think the Steven can wander down the ultra conserative path because he can not get enought others to support him. As odd as it sounds I think the NDP and the Liberals have more in common then do any of the other parties.

NDP won big here too.

campingboy & Steph,

Although I'm unfamiliar with the NDP, from you comments above, I take it that you see it is a liberal/left of center organization. Is that a fair assessment?

Welcome to social relivance class 101. The guy sitting on the stool in the corner with a dunce cap on is the good o'le USA. There is hope yet,but we have to clear out the right wing dunces first. Think of the bright side,Palistine just elected Hamas by as land slide.
