We have managed to reach another first in history today (http://www.census.gov/main/www/popclock.html). Through the one combined effort humanity has been able to jointly participate in, we have reached a living population 6,500,000,000 people on the planet.
Before you fluff off that meaningless number, consider just this one question. If I gave you $1,000 a day, seven days a week, how long would it take you to collect 1 billion dollars?
answer: 2,737.85 years (2,737 years, 10 months, 7 days)
This means that if the payments had begun on the first day of the common era (January 1, year 1 on the Gregorian calendar), it would be November 7, of 2738 (or 732 years from now, if we stared the day Christ was born) before the $1 billion would accumulate.
To a number person like myself, there is NO OTHER ISSUE IN THE WORLD as meaningful and effective to us, our children, our grandchildren and ALL the generations to come.
