Today, someone forwarded me a joke email and in the send this to 14390279327645 other people or you'll die 297645 horrible deaths, there was the line "remember that children laugh an average of 146 times a day;
adults laugh an average of 4 times a day."

I got to thinking about how many times a day I laugh. I am *always* laughing. People are always telling me how they love my laugh - my research director told me a few weeks ago how gratifying it was to be around me, because I laugh so much! During the last dig in which I participated, the teams where split up between two parts of a site. The two operations were pretty far from each other, and trees blocked the view from one to the other. The team that was in the section of the site where I wasn't couldn't see anything of our side, but they said they weren't worried : as long as they still heard my laughter (the *only* thing they heard from my side), they knew they hadn't been abandoned in the field.

Which brings me to my questions. Are you someone who laughs a lot? Do you laugh more at home? at work? Do you think you laugh more or less than the average person? Do you laugh because it's expected of you or because you truely are delighted?

Great topic PS (waits for the giggle). I laugh from my heart. No faking. It's not a pretty laugh but it's genuine and heard often.

i don't know. i can tell you i laugh way more than four times a day but when you live with bigbad, the tiny tyrant and little miss priss, if you don't giggle then you're made of stone. i think i've always been a laugher, though.
life's funny, goof it up.

I share an office with a girl I really like (which is great, because I don't have a lot of girlfriends). We laugh *all* the time and the rest of the office is always commenting on how they want to share an office with us. :)

During the dig I mentioned in my other post, I would always turn around to see one of the girls with the video camera on me, just waiting for me to laugh to catch it on film.

Laughing always makes work fly by so much faster!!!

I think I laugh a lot...and different types of laughs for different things. I embarrass myself sometimes laughing too loud! I giggle a lot too.

I laugh a lot, but it's usually accompanied by pointing.

I must laugh more than I'm aware of...the 14 yr old is always telling me something I said isn't funny, & when I claim it wasn't meant to be be, he insists I laughed when I said it...I do like to laugh, & I love making others laugh...altho sometimes the laughter I make happen often comes at the expense of someone who doesn't see the humor at all...

Are you someone who laughs a lot? Yes, Most definately yes! I love to laugh and I have been told that my laughter is infectious.

Do you laugh more at home? Well, for right now, that is where I am mostly at, yes, I laugh at home. Also, when I am chatting or posting and I write "LOL" "LMAO" and "ROFLMAO" I truely have snorted, giggled, laughed, or have laughed so hard that I nearly fall out of my chair. There have been numerous times that I was caught drinking pop, milk, tea, et cetera, and ended up spraying it all over.

at work? Alas no job right now, but at my previous jobs, I cannot recall one that I didn't laugh at all

Do you think you laugh more or less than the average person? My friends call me up sometimes just to hear me laugh, so that they can laugh at me laughing. My laugh is very recognizable as well, and it carries distances like yours does PixieSprite. At one of the apartment complexes that i lived at, I became very good friends with the downstairs neighbors and after all the kids went to bed, she and I would sit outside, smoke cigarettes, converse and laugh. One evening I was a little too loud, and the apartment manager called. I answered it still laughing so hard that i could barely breathe, which got her to laughing. so finally after we calmed down enough to talk, she said that she was going to give me a written warning for disturbing the peace after 10 pm, because someone called her on the otherside of the block long complex saying that someone was laughing too loudly. She said that she hadn't had a good belly laugh in a long time, so she said that if i were to calm down that she'd just tear up the warning. My friend and I went inside, laughing all the way!

Do you laugh because it's expected of you or because you truely are delighted?I laugh when I am truely delighted! I even clap my hands in delight, and I have noticed that my friends IRL are picking up the hand clapping thing too. Another friend of mine likes to make me laugh so hard that I snort when i can't catch my breath, which sends him off into peals of laughter himself!

I think that laughing keeps us young!

I laugh a lot. I'm in an open office & every shift has hilarious people. I really think several of them could do stand-up.

My last several boyfriends had their faults but they all made me laugh. My 76-year-old gay pal makes me laugh with his tales of debauchery that my cheeks & stomach hurt.

I am fortunate to know a lot of unpretentious, intelligent people.

I love my dog's sense of humour. We're like Laurel & Hardy. Sometimes I'm the straight man, vice versa. (Shaddup, PF)

I laugh often on the inside, but I have a lot more fun getting people around me to laugh (or groan).

True laughter is a ripple across the brain that leaks to the lungs.

I'm more likely to laugh on the inside as well. I'm surrounded on a daily basis by someone that cackles (oh how that grates on the ears) and another person that appears to have an uncontrollable nervous belly laugh. I'm sorry but when I'm in the midst of a serious conversation hearing a cackle and a constant ha ha ha ha belly laugh isn't what I would call infectous of the positive variety.

I more often laugh inside than outside. I’ll typically play the straight man to a co-worker.

I laugh all the time. Not as much as my older sister though. She laughs inappropriately at times and it drives me mad! I've asked Mr. Lixy if I do that (just to check) and he said no. He said I have a great sense of humor and people who know me know that.

I laugh, a hearty laugh, Ha ha, Ha hahahahahaha!

I laugh a lot. More at home than at work, but I laugh plenty there too.

Laughing's good!
