I've refused to try it... the color turns me off. But the Barilla plus enriched pasta which is some sort of a blend is really quite good and the only thing I eat now when it comes to pasta.

I don't mind it...just think of it as a different food group from traditional pasta. If you can accept that, everything's OK

Ick. I hate the stuff. It's not even really the taste...though that's pretty bad too...
No. It's the texture. It's all...grainy and scratchy and...and...just not right! It's like eating frickin' bread, only it's not supposed to be bread!
I'd like to think I'm a relatively...kind of healthy person. And I'll try most things that are edible (baby octopus are chewy :cboy: ), but I draw the line with pasta.

I agree with you that it's the texture. The taste is similar to regular pasta... but bad. And I just hate how it feels in my mouth... ugh.

Haven't tried it, have no desire to, especially now! lol

It's not THAT bad...my only quibble with the stuff is that it falls apart too easily, maybe. You can't get that "al dente" quality with it.
If you're into being real healthy with the organics, it's prolly better. It WILL clean out your system, that's for sure. Pile it with some good organic, tomatoey marinara sauce. The few times I've eaten it, I had rumblings in my belly about an hour later that had me sitting on the throne for a while...

Whole wheat linguini is cool (especially texture wise). Ya just cook the pasta for two minutes.
I also like squid ink pasta so I may be in the minority.

I liked it...the Barilla brand anyway.
But, we've stopped eating anything that boosts your fiber intake due to Mr. Lixy's medical condition. He's on a low/no fiber diet now. I get my fiber in things I eat when it doesn't include him (ie:weekday breakfast and lunch while at work). Matter of fact, due to his condition, he can't digest pasta in any form very well. Crohn's is an angry beast at times!
But um...as I said...I kinda liked the whole wheat stuff!

Don't they call that a liquid diet?

maybe it needs a different approach. a textured sauce. spicy peanut? pesto? almonds and crunchy veggies?
somethin so you don't mind the crunch so much. :D
another healthy alternative is brown rice noodles. still a complex carb and has a better texture
