Does anyone else suffer from them? What sets yours off, anything in particular?
I've had them for many years. Mint flavour and stress set mine off it seems (and i love anything mint *L*)
Since last Sat (15th) i've had a headache, Wednesday it developed into a migraine. Well Wed night a had a strange episodes where it was like all my nerve endings were firing in my head for short periods, this went on for around 10 min. Then i had one where nerve ending in my whole body did the same and i could not move or talk for 1-2 minutes (scary as!! I thought i was having a stroke or going to die to be honest!) I still had the headache Thursday and again today (Fri).
Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?
My doctor believes it to have been a migraine aura, though i did have to go for a CT scan this morning to rule out anything else.
Interested in hearing from other sufferers

I feel mine coming on and if I catch it early I can stop it from turning into more than I can handle. I am glad you are going for a CT. When you have any changes you should have it checked.

Yes i generally can feel mine coming too Lilith, and the same, catch early doesn't get bad. But this one was strange, and never had one hang around as long either. I also did not get the vision disturbances i normally do when one is coming.
Really odd....I should get the results of the CT scan Wed or Thurs. I certainly hope its normal, but wheretf did this come from!
Scary and strange!

I rarely (once or twice a year) get a migraine. I haven't figured out what triggers them, but I get really bad tracers, to the point of not being able to see, and light makes me want to puke.
My wife used to get them REALLY badly. I had to take her to the ER on at least two occasions to get a shot. It finally got to the point that I had to practically force her to go to the doctor. It's not normal to get headaches three days a week. I wish I could remember what they did, but they made her change a few things and her migraines have gotten more rare.
EDIT: There was an interesting interview on NPR with a woman who did intensive studies on migraines.

My problem in years past was cluster headaches, more common in males, while true migraines tend more to the female half of the sky. My clusters might be debilitating for part of one day, but usually, when the big one came, I knew it was coming to stay for a while. Excedrin or Vanquish generally would get me back to being able to see straight for a while.
I'm with Lil, anything out of the ordinary deserves the doc having a look inside to see what's ticking.

Some blood pressure meds can increase the likelihood/frequency of migraines.

I've only had about five headaches in a lifetime that I could probably class as migraines, and do not envy anyone who has them with more regularity. Headache tablets, plus sleep, plus eventually throwing up has usually been the pattern to make the pain subside. As soon as I throw up, which can unfortunately be a long time after he pain begins, things start to improve.
Mine have usually developed from headaches I've not caught early enough with tablets.

I used to get them a lot when I was in high school...made worse when football season was going on due to all the contact. None really since sophomore year in college....thankfully!

Great news that the CT scan was clear :line:
Your headache only just went? Wow! I can't imagine having a headache for so long :faint: I hope it's a long time before you get another, I think you've had a lifetime's fill of headaches :console:
I'm glad you're feeling better now
