It will either be fun or hell. Either way I packed wine. I'm leaving in the morning but should be able to check in sometime. If you eat turkey before I check back in remember that it's ok to be thankful for little stuff, like plastic wine glasses and fuzzy warm up suits...

and your friends here too. X

PF, you're old enough to know that the parents aren't gone, until five minutes after they pulled out the driveway.

PantyFanatic
11-26-2008, 10:54 AM
Sorry :tear:

Keep us posted on how things are going for you. :(

Still waiting for antbiotics to be called in to the pharmacy. The hotel party is going to start without me :( I have the kids doped up on good meds but need a script for Most Honorable Son #2.

Lately Murphy has been having his way with me.

I hate to say it, but I think I might be a close second. My Dad married his sister in law, and my cousin had a kid, then got married to someone my Dad's age. Keep in mind I'm only 22 and you should be able to figure out the approximate age of her husband. Who, by the way has 10 kids, by multiple women. Most were in their wedding party. Do I come close?

Have fun Lil and drink lots of wine. Booze always seems to help make stupidity funnier.

Don't recall the movie, but it's something about a dysfunctional family gathering, & one woman says,
"This is not funny"
Another woman responds, "No, but I'm gonna keep drinkin' till it is!" :wine:
makes me  every time I hear it.

My "outlaws" have calmed down a lot lately, but I used to want to throw my hat in thru the door first to see what the reaction was :argue: :yikes:

we used to have the family functions at my grandparents' farm Like the 4th of July and Christmas, now our (dys)functions are held at my "our-shit-don't-stink-because-we-are-so-much-better-than-thou-art" Aunt and Uncle's, but this year (HA! HA!) it is back at the farm! There is a HUGE shindig going on at my grandparents' church for its' 120th Christmas right on the dates that Auntie planned the family Christmas for all of us back in July, and now the rest of the family have chosen, and usurped Auntie's rule, to go back home for Christmas.

I take great delight in that Auntie was put back in her place. But WAY MORE i take great delight in the possibility of seeing the rest of the family (Come on Mayhem's visa!) and introducing Mayhem to a Christmas, Iowa farm-style!

I hope that your reunion is a happy enjoyable on Lil and I hope that sick kiddos are well soon!

I lived through black Friday shopping with my cousins. Now it's off to the next part of the reunion. Today I bring the wine :D

Hope it continues to go well Lil. I agree LB, watching people like that put in their proper place is always funny. Especially if it's by their parents.

Lilith

We just dumped all the parents and the kids. We had a party in my room. I made peppermint patties. Much beer was consumed and stories told. Good times.

PantyFanatic

You're suppose to be on vacation! :hair: Not peeking in every other minute and watching every move we make. :banghead:...... I mean :rolleyes2 how are we going to wish you well and have a big welcome home party if it's like you never left?:D

Lilith
11-29-2008, 08:58 AM

I put together a family reunion in August...even more interesting because I invited both Mr Osuche's family and mine. Having the indian grandparents sleep in the room next to the American ones was interesting.

Yeah, there was lots of wine at mine, too

I hope you're having fun, Lil!

Lilith
11-30-2008, 02:43 PM

Senility is like a fine wine? It's more fun with age?

Oldfart
12-01-2008, 08:48 PM
Like many things, you can't drive it properly without the roadmiles under you.

scotzoidman
12-01-2008, 10:48 PM
There's only one bad thing about senility.

When I remember what it is, I'll get back to you...

True, but after so many miles, things start to break down and just an oil change won't fix it.
