The iguana I've had for over eight years died.
I adopted her in april of 2000 from the local humane society: we think she was about 4 then. She had had horrible care prior to them taking her in; there were scars up and down her tail from thermal burns. In 2006, I had to have most of her tail amputated due to some unidentified degenerative bone disorder. She had been visibly sick since September, I never did figure out what the cause was. Sometime in October, she stopped eating on her own, but she did seem to respond at first to oral fluid/slurry support. Just gradully got worse.
I can't afford to have a necropsy done, and no, I'm not going to do one myself, can't deal with that.
