Last month, on Friday the 13th, I was able to finally get a tattoo that holds a special place in my heart. It's dedicated to all my friends and family who struggle daily with anxiety, depression, suicide, substance abuse and self harm. I found many interpretations for the image. It is a simple semi-colon (look up Project Semi-Colon)... with butterfly wings. Right now, it's a simple outline. I'm considering going back and adding color in the future, but right now, I like it as is.

That's lovely!

Personally, I love the strong simplicity of that the way it is; subtle, yet with a powerful message. While I can see the attraction of colour, if it were mine I'd leave it just the way it is.

Just my :2cents:

I like the semi colon movement. My g/f got one on her middle finger. Her big f/u to depression.

It is a nice simple tattoo. With it being on your wrist, keeping it simple is a good choice.

So far, I like it as is...open and bold. The artist the night I got it asked if I wanted it filled in (even JUST the "body" of the butterfly)...and I said no to leave it as is. The shop I went to, ran a special for Friday the 13th....and had 4 sheets of flash to choose from--each design was only $13 and you could pick as many as you wanted. My butterfly was one of the choices.

Before the semi colon movement I got infinity hearts on my wrist for " she wrote love on her wrists." It reminds me of STO every minute.

Very nice! I'm not a huge tattoo fan, but that one is especially nice in it's simplicity! And, a nice sentiment to go along with it!

So simple but so powerful.
