HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Today he moves ahead of me for another 5 months and becomes the older of the two of us. So, I congratulate him on reaching this next milestone in his life and in another 5 1/2 months or so, I join him for almost another year of sharing the same age.
In recognition of this great event, a little poetic verse is in order.
Twas a day some years ago,
In a town beside a lake.
A mama said, "Will yo look at that,
a young'n we did make.
He's a cryin' and he's a moaning,
Must be hungry for goodness sake.
Guess I'd better feed him,
Then he'll open the flood gate."
Well that's all behind us now,
It's today we celebrate.
Its the ladies with their paddles
To make this day real great.
They seem to always like that part,
Paddling his bare behind,
No doubt they'll take a pinch or two,
While the guys all laugh and dine.
And when the gauntlet's over,
And his bottom is aglow,
The crowd will lift their glasses high,
And we all begin to crow ...
