A conversation I had with Mindboxer made me think of this........
Is there a little saying that you say to yourself, either to give you peace of mind or to just reassure yourself? Or do you have a saying you use as a reminder to yourself?
When neg thoughts creep in and I get worried some stupid thing, out of my control will happen I just tell myself.......
You are not that lucky!!!! (I figure I have never won the lottery so I will probably not get struck by lightening either) :D :p
What's your mantra?

I don't have any sayings...maybe I should.
I just HOPE you never get hit by lightning Lilith.
I hope you have a good day.

It is not a saying, but many times I tell myself that everyone has to make his own experiences. Parents / teachers ASO can say it 1000 times, it will fit better in your mind if you have experienced it yourself.

When I get up out of bed in the morning, I grunt out something that sounds like "awfuck," does that count?

"Someone loves me...Someone cares....It's not as bad as it could be." This gets me through tough times especially those daily anxieties that keep you from sleeping.

Trust an old Fart.
A pint of Guinness give time to put things into perspective,
and if that doesn't work, Ruth, the greatest Irish bar manager
in Darwin, will give you a perspective extension.

I have this taped on my bathroom mirror so I remind myself every day............
The life you've lived today
Can you say tonight in parting with the day that's slipping past,
That you helped a single person of the many you have passed?
Is a single life rejoicing over what you did or said?
Does one whose hopes were fading, now with courage look ahead?
Did you waste the day or lose it, was it well or poorly spent?
Did you leave a trail of kindness, or scar of discontent?
As you close your eyes in slumber. do you think that they would say,
"You have made the world much better for the life you've lived today?"
When things don't seem to be going right I always say...
"I think I'll have another coffee"

When things in my life take a dumper I generally start with "Crap-tacular", followed by a deep sigh and then "Oh well, it could always be worse."
Then I estimate the cost of repairs and get busy fixing it. ;)
When my hubby has a crap-tacular day, I start singing "Chin up, Chin up ... everybody loves a happy face ..." (Charlotte's Web). He ALWAYS smiles, just to shut me up. :whack:

My motto??? :D ;)
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

This to shall pass is mine also.
I also say life is ever changing so just wait around a minute.

Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

"God is good"
& I'll sing this part of "No Woman, No Cry" when I'm stressing:
My feet is my only carriage,
So I’ve got to push on through.
But while I’m gone, I mean:
Everything’s gonna be all right!
Everything’s gonna be all right!
Everything’s gonna be all right!
Everything’s gonna be all right!
I said, everything’s gonna be all right-a!
Everything’s gonna be all right!
Everything’s gonna be all right, now!
Everything’s gonna be all right!
So, woman, no cry;
No - no, woman - woman, no cry.
Woman, little sister, don’t shed no tears;
No, woman, no cry.
