August Pixies Party

Most of you know about the party I am throwing in August.
I wanted to put the details here on the front page for easier viewing.

Dates- August 9th, 10th, and 11th

Place- an island off West Palm Beach, FL

I have found a motel for $50 a night. If you would like details, pm, me, and I will be happy to give them.

I will be serving dinner on both nights, though I don't have a menu planned yet.

The motel has a kitchen in each room, and serve cofee, juice, and rolls from 8-11am.

I will post more details as I know them, and as the plans fall together.

I myself think it would be more relaxed and fun to not go to the club. And I think that the general feeling I was getting was that many would be able to afford the prices. But I could be wrong. Myself, I would rather stay at the hotel and bounce between rooms or have someone act as host or something and just relax. But I am fairly easy going.

For us I want to just hang out at the rooms or go to dinner and drinks or what ever else. I dont care what other people do as for me I just want to hang out :)

I really don't care either way. I personally was looking foward to the club and the experience of it (I haven't found anything like that anywhere around here.) However, if no one else is up to it, it would be just as much fun in the hotel. I'm sure the experiences would be just as great. And, if nothing else, I could go in a small group if others were interested. I'm sure I'll have fun no matter what I'm doing.

ASH- Yes, we won't leave out the possibility of the club... who knows what may happen... a small group may end up wanting to go.

I can set up some cool stuff at the motel to get people in a party mood.... music.... dancing. Thanks for the responses guys!! It really helps in the planning process!

Okay... I'm gonna post the menu for Friday night, and if you haven't told me already, let me know if you need a special dish.

Baked Ziti
Tossed Salad
Garlic bread
Fresh fruit, and fresh whipped cream for dessert
I'm also gonna serve my special fruit-rum punch!

Oh yeah! Don't forget sunscreen at least 30spf
Also if you plan to go in the ocean, you will need sea lice preventative (sea lice are jelly fish larva). They sell it here for around $13.00 for a family sized bottle.

Hey ASH. I would not mind the idea of playing in the motel... As long as I can snag some of the fresh fruit and whipped cream. The menu sounds really good to me Sadora. I love baked ziti, haven't had it in a long time.

I am going back to the hotel this weekend to talk with the owner, and make sure he won't mind the crowd. I am thinking of bringing my stereo system. Since we will be outside, that's a little scary! I will have more details to post on Sunday or Monday.

I couldn't get an appointment this weekend with the owner of the hotel, but am planning on calling, and setting one up today. That should answer alot of questions and let me plan better.

I called the motel yesterday, and will be going there to walk through things with him Friday or Saturday.

We are trying to think of games/contests to break the ice, and get people in a party mood. Any suggestions? We have a few, but would love to hear what you guys think!

Guess nobody had any ideas. Well, I am going on Monday to do the walk through at the motel. I work full time now, so don't have as much time as I used to. I will try to borrow a digital camera and take some photos for you guys... we'll see.
So....no ideas of anything fun to help get people talking and interacting??

Well, the owner and I seem to have different scheduals, but we have talked enough by phone that I know it is a go there. I plan to go this Sunday to do a walk through. Just to see about the details on my end. If any of you want me to make reservations for you due to lack of credit card or whatever, just let me know..

Does anyone coming have a digital camera or a scanner? If so, please bring the camera, and also let me know. I was hoping to get a new cam by the party, but it's not looking good.

Sadora.......Mr. Lix and I are so regretful..........We cannot attend at this time unless we change our scheduled plans on July 4-14....We absolutely stole these days from all our respective fellow employees. We both have "major seniority" at the companies we work and we just explored this thread and found....we jumped the gun and should have taken the date for the Pixies reunion as a vacation time! I then, in turn, questioned Mr. Lix as to a change and he said it wasn't possible and now I am so sad that we cannot meet everyone!

Please know.........we will be more aware of future reunions and we look forward to meeting everyone that can attend them!

Well this is kinda my official announcement that there is now a 99% chance that I will be at the meeting in Florida. Mainly, because on Monday, tomorrow I will be relocating to Florida on a semi permanent basis. I will hopefully be able to maintain my appearances on Pixies, mainly depending upon whether I can get my computer done there with me. So for everyone that is going I look forward to meeting you all. And for those of you that cannot make it, well I will maintain pleasant thoughts of you as I am sure will everyone else present.

Hey. God, i hate to do this and take back my "definately going to go" statement, but money is just not holding up for me. I'm going to have a few more expenses at school this year than last, so the money i make this summer is going to take up the difference. I really wish i could go.
