IAKaraokeGirl 12-02-2003 01:30 PM

:D

Four days out of the week, it's approximately 15 steps between bed and desk.

The other day, it's between an hour and a half and an hour and 45 minutes.

Do you like your job?

Sharni 12-02-2003 01:41 PM

Not particulary....but there are worse jobs

What would be your ultimate Job?

Lilith 12-02-2003 01:55 PM

Teaching kids with Autism and getting results!

What is your least favorite body part?

IAKaraokeGirl 12-02-2003 02:03 PM

My stomach.

What is your favorite?

skyler_m 12-02-2003 02:42 PM

My legs.

Favorite body part of the opposite sex?

IAKaraokeGirl 12-02-2003 02:49 PM

His eyes, followed by his smile...but I'm really just in total awe of his whole body.

Oops! Sorry--was lost in fantasy for a minute. ;)

Do you procrastinate?

skyler_m 12-02-2003 02:51 PM

LOL. Well, I'm "working" right now... I'd have to say yes.

Do you work better with the radio on in the background?

IAKaraokeGirl 12-02-2003 03:05 PM

Yes, usually. At home, though, if I'm alone (i.e., no kids) I usually keep it quiet. It's nice not having Cartoon Network screaming in my ear. :)

Do you like shopping at the mall?

skyler_m 12-02-2003 03:07 PM

Honestly, sometimes I do. Would rather be shopping at Home Depot, though. LOL

What's your favorite indulgence when you go out shopping?

IAKaraokeGirl 12-02-2003 03:15 PM

Buying things for people I love. No kidding.

Do you have a cell phone, and do you like it?

skyler_m 12-02-2003 03:19 PM

I have a cell phone on me 24 hours a day... It can be good at times (when my wife and daughter call when I'm on the road) and bad others (when work calls while I'm home).

Do you ever miss the "simpler times" before technology?

IAKaraokeGirl 12-02-2003 03:22 PM

Sometimes I can hardly remember that. I often think that my children might be short-changed because of technology when I think about all the fun my sister and I had growing up, interacting with other kids our age, playing outside, etc., but, without technology, I wouldn't be able to do what I do for a living. I also have someone I try to keep in touch with very frequently, and I know I'd be missing a lot without computers, cell phones, etc.

How do you choose where to eat when out and about?

dicksbro 12-02-2003 03:25 PM

I think we've got about a half doze "favorites" that we usually pick from, but then ever few months we'll pick another place we've never or seldom been to. That's fun. Try to get out at least once a month ... usually twice.

(The short answer is she tells me ... :D :D ... just teasing.)

Got your tree up yet for Christmas? In any case, when do you set it up and when do you take it down?

Lilith 12-02-2003 03:53 PM

not yet...we wait til after my bday and take it down New Year's Day

Do you celebrate Christmas?

WildIrish 12-02-2003 04:05 PM

Boy howdy do we celebrate Christmas!

From tree tagging, cutting and decorating ceremonial pictures to town lighting and caroling gatherings. After all, it's the hap, happiest season of all!

Do you spend too much money on presents?

skyler_m 12-02-2003 04:12 PM

Not really. I tend to make a number of gifts that I give out (I do wood working and wood carving). We've also been doing more "family gifts" which are better in my mind. For my sister's family, instead of buying gifts for 5 individuals, we got them a night at a hotel/indoor waterpark.

What's the best gift you've gotten?

WildIrish 12-02-2003 04:14 PM

My young cousin cut a small piece of birch tree and used his woodburning kit to burn a heart with my wife and I's name into it, like a couple of teenagers would carve their names into a tree trunk. I love that gift and will keep it forever.

What was your favorite gift and why?

SuccubusKitty 12-02-2003 05:19 PM

a bingo machine a friend got for me cuz it was so corny

What are you planning for this weekend?

WildIrish 12-02-2003 05:41 PM

Building a barn in the snow

What's your favorite season?

celticangel 12-02-2003 06:26 PM

I love the Spring!

What is your favourite colour?

IAKaraokeGirl 12-02-2003 07:06 PM

Blue...always has been, except for about a two-year period in my mid-teens when I wanted/had a purple bedroom. But I've always been partial to blue, especially the royal blue that represents the Kentucky Wildcats. :D

When do you open your Christmas presents?

SuccubusKitty 12-02-2003 07:09 PM

My Yule presents open on the Solstice, Christmas presents on Christmas Day.

When do you decorate your house for the Holidays?

Sharni 12-02-2003 07:09 PM

Never

What year did you leave school?

IAKaraokeGirl 12-02-2003 07:10 PM

Well, I've actually been a professional studen most of my life. :) But I actually took my last classes about a year ago.

Do you prefer black or brown--shoes, pants, etc.?

musicman 12-02-2003 10:35 PM

black....

retail or online shopping?

Steph 12-03-2003 01:10 AM

little bit from column a, little bit from column b . . .

Are you doing any shopping online this year?

dicksbro 12-03-2003 05:00 AM

Did for two different items. Those were a first.

Are you going anywhere at or near Christmas?

Sharni 12-03-2003 05:07 AM

Nope

Do you eat a lot of Fast Food?

dicksbro 12-03-2003 05:08 AM

Yeah. Too much. :(

Do you drink a lot of soda?

CunningLinguist 12-03-2003 11:11 AM

No, but I used to and I am slipping back into drinking too much soda.

Do you call it soda, pop or coke?

IAKaraokeGirl 12-03-2003 11:13 AM

For the first 30 years of my life it was Coke, no matter what kind it was. Coming to Iowa, though, and having small children, I realize I'm starting to slip into the "pop" mode.

Do you blow dry your hair?

Steph 12-03-2003 11:37 AM

I will definitely do so today since it's so cold. It does make your hair look nicer, too.

Do you wear make-up every day? (If you're male - do you wear aftershave/cologne every day?)

IAKaraokeGirl 12-03-2003 12:05 PM

Unless I'm really having a bad work day and don't get my shower until late, yes.

What TV show would you stay up late to watch?

Sharni 12-03-2003 01:38 PM

Angel...Buffy...Stargate...Star Trek...Highlander...quite a few actually

What is your favorite TV show?

WildIrish 12-03-2003 02:19 PM

I enjoy Survivor. Other than that, I could take or leave TV.

Have you ever watched an R rated movie just to see if they show boobies?

IAKaraokeGirl 12-03-2003 02:20 PM

LOL. No!

Have you ever done something you knew was dangerous but didn't care?

WildIrish 12-03-2003 02:43 PM

Sure, it keeps life exciting.

Have you ever done anything stupid, ignoring the possible consequences?

IAKaraokeGirl 12-03-2003 02:46 PM

Yes, did the other night. Sometimes anger gets in the way of rationalization.

Did you ever play hookey from high school, and what did you do instead?

WildIrish 12-03-2003 03:37 PM

Not until senior year, and it was to go to the beach.

Please share your memory of a favorite family vacation with us.

IAKaraokeGirl 12-03-2003 04:28 PM

Well, not so sure it's a "family" vacation, but when I was 7-1/2 months pregnant with my first, my husband and I took a little over four days and headed out from southern California, through Zion National Park to the north rim of the Grand Canyon, around the huge thing to the south rim, then through Prescott, AZ and Needles back home. It was a whirlwind, crazy trip and, by the way, have you ever tried to find potties in the desert for a pregnant woman while praying she doesn't go into labor 100 miles from a hospital? :D

What gesture by your SO touches you the most?
