Do you procrastinate?

LOL. Well, I'm "working" right now... I'd have to say yes.

Do you work better with the radio on in the background?

Yes, usually. At home, though, if I'm alone (i.e., no kids) I usually keep it quiet. It's nice not having Cartoon Network screaming in my ear. :)

Do you like shopping at the mall?

Honestly, sometimes I do. Would rather be shopping at Home Depot, though. LOL

What's your favorite indulgence when you go out shopping?

Buying things for people I love. No kidding.

Do you have a cell phone, and do you like it?

I have a cell phone on me 24 hours a day... It can be good at times (when my wife and daughter call when I'm on the road) and bad others (when work calls while I'm home).

Do you ever miss the "simpler times" before technology?

Sometimes I can hardly remember that. I often think that my children might be short-changed because of technology when I think about all the fun my sister and I had growing up, interacting with other kids our age, playing outside, etc., but, without technology, I wouldn't be able to do what I do for a living. I also have someone I try to keep in touch with very frequently, and I know I'd be missing a lot without computers, cell phones, etc.

How do you choose where to eat when out and about?

I think we've got about a half doze "favorites" that we usually pick from, but then ever few months we'll pick another place we've never or seldom been to. That's fun. Try to get out at least once a month ... usually twice.

(The short answer is she tells me ... :D :D ... just teasing.)

Got your tree up yet for Christmas? In any case, when do you set it up and when do you take it down?

not yet...we wait til after my bday and take it down New Year's Day



Do you celebrate Christmas?

Boy howdy do we celebrate Christmas!

From tree tagging, cutting and decorating ceremonial pictures to town lighting and caroling gatherings. After all, it's the hap, happiest season of all!


Do you spend too much money on presents?

Not really. I tend to make a number of gifts that I give out (I do wood working and wood carving). We've also been doing more "family gifts" which are better in my mind. For my sister's family, instead of buying gifts for 5 individuals, we got them a night at a hotel/indoor waterpark.

What's the best gift you've gotten?

My young cousin cut a small piece of birch tree and used his woodburning kit to burn a heart with my wife and I's name into it, like a couple of teenagers would carve their names into a tree trunk. I love that gift and will keep it forever.

What was your favorite gift and why?

a bingo machine a friend got for me cuz it was so corny

Building a barn in the snow

What's your favorite season?

I love the Spring!


What is your favourite colour?

Blue...always has been, except for about a two-year period in my mid-teens when I wanted/had a purple bedroom. But I've always been partial to blue, especially the royal blue that represents the Kentucky Wildcats. :D

When do you open your Christmas presents?

My Yule presents open on the Solstice, Christmas presents on Christmas Day.


When do you decorate your house for the Holidays?

Well, I've actually been a professional studen most of my life. :) But I actually took my last classes about a year ago.

Did for two different items. Those were a first.

Yeah. Too much. :(

No, but I used to and I am slipping back into drinking too much soda.

For the first 30 years of my life it was Coke, no matter what kind it was. Coming to Iowa, though, and having small children, I realize I'm starting to slip into the "pop" mode.

Do you blow dry your hair?

I will definitely do so today since it's so cold. It does make your hair look nicer, too.

Do you wear make-up every day? (If you're male - do you wear aftershave/cologne every day?)

Unless I'm really having a bad work day and don't get my shower until late, yes.

What TV show would you stay up late to watch?

I enjoy Survivor. Other than that, I could take or leave TV.

LOL. No!

Have you ever done something you knew was dangerous but didn't care?

Sure, it keeps life exciting.

Have you ever done anything stupid, ignoring the possible consequences?

Yes, did the other night. Sometimes anger gets in the way of rationalization.

Did you ever play hookey from high school, and what did you do instead?

Not until senior year, and it was to go to the beach.

Please share your memory of a favorite family vacation with us.

Well, not so sure it's a "family" vacation, but when I was 7-1/2 months pregnant with my first, my husband and I took a little over four days and headed out from southern California, through Zion National Park to the north rim of the Grand Canyon, around the huge thing to the south rim, then through Prescott, AZ and Needles back home. It was a whirlwind, crazy trip and, by the way, have you ever tried to find potties in the desert for a pregnant woman while praying she doesn't go into labor 100 miles from a hospital? :D
