An unexpected email.

sodaklostsoul 09-15-2007 08:58 PM

Kiddo's soccer team losing 5-0.

Oldfart 09-17-2007 07:34 AM

We've just had Sister Helen Prejean, played excellently by Susan Sarandon in Dead Man Walking.

Agree or disagree, she's an amazing woman.

osuche 09-17-2007 11:09 AM

I am sad because I've realized I have no good way to say thank you

Oldfart 10-01-2007 03:24 AM

Moneypenny's dead.

osuche 10-01-2007 10:23 AM

I woke up and realized I have to go to work....

WildIrish 10-02-2007 02:34 PM

I'm on page 700 of James Clavell's Shogun and today, Iowaman ruined the ending for me.

He told me "the butler did it". :(

Lilith 10-02-2007 05:05 PM

Being scared in my job today for the first time.

Oldfart 10-03-2007 07:58 AM

Almost, but not quite right.

As he was a contract worker under the Hong Kong labour laws of the 1960s, it was more a case of "The Major-domo did it".

Sorry.

Sorry.

Any relation to Mr. Roboto?

Oldfart 10-18-2007 04:38 PM

Deborah Kerr and Joey Bishop just skipped out the back door.

Are there any of the old characters still out there?

osuche 10-18-2007 09:13 PM

Sadly these happen, but she left in good company.

Our condolences to your half sister.

Was she also your stepmother?

No...My half-sister and I share a dad, but we were both raised by our moms. We've gotten close as we got older, however.

I didn't know her mom so well....but I feel really sad for my sister.

Oldfart 10-20-2007 04:24 AM

Tough time.

Give her a stranger's wishes.

IowaMan 10-29-2007 05:46 PM

Learning of the death of a friend's daughter.

IowaMan 10-30-2007 02:05 PM

Same thing as yesterday except her picture was in the obits today.

WildIrish 10-30-2007 02:10 PM

Sorry to hear of that IM.

IowaMan 11-08-2007 06:31 PM

Somehow I've gone from being an absolute "dog lover" to a cat lover too and this made me sad when I saw it.

I don't know. Something did, and I wish I could figure it out. :(

Realising in addition to an increased sense of paranoia and mistrust which has steadily appeared out of nowhere in my psyche, that at times I feel my SO might be driven in the very same way. :boohoo:

PantyFanatic 11-12-2007 11:22 PM

I tried to go to Paranoid Anonymous but nobody would tell me where they hold the meetings. :doorpeek:

Oops. Grammar let me down on that one when I first posted. :banghead:

To clarify. I was firstly saddened to realise how paranoid and distrustful I've started feeling this year, followed by the thought that your comment (in a sexual manner) may also apply to my SO.

So I guess those were two things that I felt sad about yesterday.

Haven't been awake to experience enough of today to comment on today yet. ;)

lc69hunter 11-13-2007 08:03 AM

On a more serious note, one of my favorite forums imploding over 2 groups of women just tearing each other up verbally. Why does that s**t have to happen?

Because they don't have mods like Pixies has.

AZRedHot 11-13-2007 10:24 AM

That there are a whole passel of new folks at my online grief group; I wish it weren't so, even though I know it's inevitable.

Rhiannon 11-13-2007 10:26 AM

talking to unemployment. i am still upset about the job loss and its almost like going through a grieving process. I hate that

Irish 11-13-2007 10:39 AM

That even tho it just passed, not ONE person even mentioned Veterns Day!
(sp?)How times have changed! The main reason that Americans can enjoy a site,
like Pixies,is because people suffered for thier freedoms! Irish
P.S.Just my opinion!

Rhiannon 11-13-2007 10:41 AM

There aren't only Americans at Pixies, Irish.

At home in Nova Scotia, Remembrance Day is a holiday. I was shocked the first year I was in Québec here and I found out it was not.

I know that there isn't only Americans here. The MAIN reason that I mentioned
Americans is that it's THEM that have the option of belonging to Pixies. That is
the ONLY reason that I even mentioned that Americans were helped by Veterens.NOT to start an argument! The thread was"What made you sad today?" Irish :(
