Maybe my being on a mac has something to do with it. But I never had any trouble navigating before.

I'm not sure about this site, but the site I work for doesn't support Safari and suggests using IE 5.2+ for Macs, I believe.

OK. We’ve had a while now to find our way around our new clubhouse.

I’m personally getting use to a lot of the small changes in what lever works what. Just taking a while to learn the new tricks. It seems most of the initial glitches were handled quick and well. I ALMOST feel sorry for the poor guy that had to throw the switch for our new show and stand back while we Pixies went over it like an army aunt invasion. :D LOL

With the exception of ONE MAJOR FUNCTION ………….. it looks to me like this next generation has been tweeked and polished up for a nice, sleek looking and dependable running machine. As a pragmatist, that’s the priority for me. The new PM is sweet, ……… but still seems to have a few unconnected buttons. I’ll watch for what happens there in time. (I know the crew is busy assembling and connecting SOMETHIG ELSE;)……………. RIGHT? )

For being at this point of settling in, I have to give us a nice 3+ overall. :) Thanks for the hard work. :)

What is unconnected in your PMs?

In my limited travels, I have used similar PM formats with the “close tag” function that doesn’t seem to work with the pop-up entry window we get. (not a biggie...)

...But the SHOUT BOX is! :D

My first guess was people aren't replying to his PMs and he thinks something is broken. :D

I'm still trying to figure out if there's a way to not get that damn pop up box asking if I want a read receipt. I'd rather assume people are reading them than know they're not! ha ha

Lilith 07-16-2004 11:07 AM

I've looked for a way to make that just automatic or gone...I'll keep looking..it's driving nucking futz too!

Steph 07-16-2004 11:26 AM

I hit cancel when the request pops up. Do you guys get read receipts from me?

I don't request read receipts but I do hit OK when someone else does...but I think my pop-up zapper kills them.

Who would open a PM from you?

Steph 07-16-2004 06:11 PM

Poor dude, you're the one not getting replies.

OMG, you didn't answer! :D

Do you get mine? When you reply to you do you see that I've requested a receipt (I'm hoping you don't because I always cancel them).

PantyFanatic 07-16-2004 06:15 PM

Nobody would open a letter from you without soaking it in a bucket of water first.
(We know you’re Irish ;) )

Steph 07-16-2004 06:19 PM

Are you trying to be stripped of your Irish heritage?

An Irishman can't mock an Irishwoman. Yer balls disappear! True story.

PantyFanatic 07-16-2004 06:27 PM

I know you are right

This new screen seems to be working well for me,for the most part. When I used to get e-mail notifications for the responses to threads I have started, now get notifications for every response after anything I post. Is this happening to anybody else?

You were set to auto subscribe to any thread you replied in...I have you set to do not subscribe now so if you want to subscribe to something you will have to manually do it.

This new screen seems to be working well for me, for the most part. When I use to post in the Shout Box, I could see it right on the front of the index page. Now I have a “pseudo-shoutbox-thingy” that isn’t even a “ sticky”. Is this happening to anybody else?

Booger 07-17-2004 01:11 AM

not sure what is wrong with your shout box I see it just fine PantieFantic

[SIZE=3]Well of course I see it as clearly as you do. The problem is that it only lets me post with the white ink, so I thought we should have another one.

maddy 08-17-2004 07:41 PM

I've been having a problem ever since the change that I've been very quiet about because I'm nearly certain it is something I've done or my firewall has done, but here it is... my problem....

I have the site bookmarked as http://www.pixies-place.com:81/forums/ and I have to sign in each time I select the bookmark (a feature of my firewall and internet security). This isn't a problem. The problem happens after I click enter after my password. I'm brought to a screen that says something like "Click below if you are not connected". Whether I click the button or not, matters not in the result. I'm brought to a screen that indicates the site can't be found. Then when I select the site from my bookmarks again all is well and I am signed in.

Anyone have any insight on how I can make this stop happening? I'm guessing its just my problem since I've not seen anyone else comment upon this issue yet.

Thanks!

MilkToast 08-17-2004 09:57 PM

Maddy,
I would recommend that you clear both your cache files and your cookies (mind you, once you do this you get to log back into ALL the sites that had set cookies).... it might help.

There are only (2)two kinds of Irishmen!
1:Those that are!
2:Those that WISH they were! Irish :jester:

maddy 08-18-2004 09:27 PM

Thanks for the suggestion MilkToast, gave it a try, and it wasn't of any help. I'll just continue to live with it :)

Maddy, you mentioned it was a fature of your firewall and internet security that you needed to log in each time... what are you using and what browser are you using as well? I used to get something similar here and still do not recall what I did to clear it up.

maddy 08-19-2004 07:11 PM

I am using the XP Firewall as well as McAfee Firewall and Internet Security, mixed with IE 6.0. I visit another forum using this version of vbulletin and no problems there. So, it must be something with the setup here, and my computer.
