And other nationalities don't have the option of belonging to Pixies?

I greatly admire the Canadians who fought for me. And Canada (as well as other Commonwealth countries) has Remembrance Day, a day on which we remember the sacrifices made for us during wars.

Why don't you create a forum where no one could reply to your posts? Wouldn't that be the ideal, really?

I walked in my room this morning to find that our new classroom mouse had died.

Another on bites the dust.

Dick Martin, the zany half of the comedy team whose "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" took television by storm in the 1960s, making stars of Goldie Hawn and Lily Tomlin and creating such national catch-phrases as "Sock it to me!" has died. He was 86

dicksbro 05-25-2008 05:17 AM

^^^^ that is sad news, OF. May he RIP.

Oldfart 05-25-2008 05:52 AM

Rowan said "Say goodnight Dick."

Martin, looking at his crutch, "Goodnight dick".

That always cracked me up.

jseal 05-25-2008 06:01 AM

Sad news indeed.

R.I.P. Mr. Martin, and thanks for the laffs!

dicksbro 06-05-2008 05:55 AM

Yesterday. Just about a week ago one of my daughter's informed us that she was expecting in February. The day before yesterday, she was getting some severe cramping and went to the doctor. The baby has died.

Lilith 06-05-2008 07:47 AM

wyndhy 06-05-2008 08:46 AM

such sad news. i've been through that too and it hurts your heart like you wouldn't believe. ((hugs))

dicksbro 06-09-2008 05:59 AM

Thanks, everyone. My wife also lost a baby in a similar way (many years ago, now). She hadn't even been aware that she was pregnant. It does hurt, but we'll see our way through this, especially with the good wishes of friends like all of you lending support. No wonder I love this place.

dicksbro 06-09-2008 09:39 PM

I guess right now it's that I can't have anything but water tonight (I have a "fasting" blood test in the morning). Why is it, you're always most hungry and thirsty when you can't eat or drink anything. :(

1nutworld 06-09-2008 09:58 PM

DB, I feel so stupid!

I meant to post a "sorry" of some sort the other day when I read your post. The time just got away from me this weekend so please accept this belated note.

Regards
Nut

Neige 06-10-2008 10:00 PM

Saying goodbye to a very dear friend. :(
