Thanks, babybunny and RandyGal. :)
Lizz, the date isn't set in stone yet. I have a pretty good idea when I need to be there, but it's all in how the rest of my preparations go timewise. :) |
Dear KG,
The cornfeilds out east are not near as nice the ones in Iowa. LOL I hope your move goes well and everything works out well for you. |
Scarecrow, do they *have* many cornfields out east? LOL. Thanks for the well wishes--so far, we're right on track!
|
Just an update--I've got a move-in date on the apartment, which is right across the street from my children's new elementary school (complete with before/after-school program). The moving truck is set up as well, and I'm currently planning out my driving route to the northeast.
Big issues still to resolve are care for my children when school is not in session and moving help when I arrive in New England to help unload the truck. That is, of course, unless some NE big, strong Pixies men want to head on over. ;) |
Sounds like you've got all your ducks in a row!
|
Ducks, yes. Unloading help, no.
|
YOU'VE GOT DUCKS???? :yikes: |
They hang out with the find-my-way-back-home hamster.
|
If the move was to Seattle I would be more than happy to help out. Congrats on the new job and the reconnection with your sweetie!
|
Thanks, bare4you.

I wanted to let you know that you and this post crossed my mind yesterday as I passed more than one fresh fruit/veggie stand on the roadside that advertised "local corn" or "native corn"! I've yet to see the fields, but I am compelled to believe they have them somewhere |
LOL @ Maddy! They're starting to harvest all of that Iowa sweet corn, more so in the next week or two, and the stands here are really pushing it big--huge article on sweet corn in today's Sunday paper as well. Good to know I won't *totally* miss the corn thing, although I've lived in Iowa almost seven years and never once made it to the Sweet Corn Festival. :rolleyes2

*bump*
Quick update, everyone. I have some moving help coming in the morning to help me start moving the myriad of boxes out of my living room and onto the semi-truck trailer in front of my house. I'm hoping to load EVERYTHING tomorrow, but we shall see. Saturday, I head southeast to visit my family and drop off the kiddos at my parents for a few weeks, then begin my long journey northward. After a few stops along the way, and barring anything unforeseen, I should arrive in New Hampshire late afternoon Tuesday. I'm running the whole gamut of emotions, from being excited about this new part of my life to anticipatory, anxious to be there *already* to stressed about getting everything done to feeling sadness about the friends and memories I'm leaving behind. I will be out of Pixie-range off and on from late tomorrow afternoon until Wednesday afternoon. Whenever I'm near a wi-fi connection, I'll be firing up the laptop to check and respond to messages. Keep an eye on everything for me, will ya? :) |
We will be thinking of you! Drive safe and don't take chances thinking you can make it farther in one day than you safely can.......We miss you already, hurry back! :lurv:

Be safe, and be fearless ;)
