Ok, I know I'm gonna get slammed for this, but I was HORRIBLY dissappointed with Episode 2. Christopher Lee, Sam Jackson and at times Ewan McGregor were the only ones who didn't act like they were reading their lines off cue cards. The plot jumped around so much that, at times, you had no clue what was going on. Maybe if I were to see it 2 or 3 more times, it would make sense, but I don't know if I can submit myself to it again. The love story was just thrown in to show where Luke and Leia come from, but Hayden and Natalie both were horrible in their parts. I've seen both actors in other films and they were great. As far as special effects, yeah they were great, but did EVERY scene have to be all about the effects. The Yoda scene was rediculous...I'm sorry to say it, but that was the dumbest thing I've seen in a long time. Again, I know I'm probably gonna get slammed for putting down the film, but I'll just say that Lucas needs to redeem himself with Episode 3 after two horrible films.

Thanks for the support Lil....Spiderman kicked some MAJOR ass. I'll definitely see that one a few more times.

I thoughtn Hayden was brilliant in the scene where he confessed to Padme about murdering the Tuskens.
Also when he looked up from his mothers body that look in his eyes was pretty convincing. |
Spider-man? Didn't like it. The Green Goblin looked (and is) ridiculous, the actor playing him spent the whole movie chewing scenery, and what's with Spider-Man's web shooters actually being part of his arm? (wouldn't web come out of his ASS if he was an anatomical spider? the whole point is supposed to be that he builds the web-shooters using his science skills).
Kirsten Dunst has never made a bad movie (Crazy/beauiful, Virgin Suicides, Bring It On, Interview with the Vampire) and here she doesn't disappoint, and Tobey was good as Peter Parker. The guy who played J Jonah Jamieson was also dead-on. But the movie was way overlong, the effects looked cheap (I agree 100% with Roger Ebert's assessment of the effects) and the ending rotted. I mean that ending stinks up the screen. Spider Man is on par with last year's Peral Harbor. Saw it once, not gonna see it again...for a looong time. Episode II, though? That rocked. :) |
