My front lawn needs mowing.

IowaMan 04-01-2007 10:18 AM

The Cubs haven't won the World Series since 1908 but this is going to be the season. It's gonna happen this year. :wish:

Oldfart 04-02-2007 01:52 AM

I just heard of Lemonade Scones.

It's all in the ingredients. Just three of them - lemonade, cream and flour.

How to make your lemonade scones.
Ingredients:

1 cup of lemonade
1 cup of cream
3 cups of self-raising flour

Preheat oven to very hot 220C.
Add lemonade and cream to flour, mix to form soft dough, then place mixture on floured surface.
Knead dough to a 2 cm thickness and cut with a floured cutter.
Place close together on tray, brush with whisked egg and bake for 10 - 15 minutes.

Maybe instead of Hot Cross Buns this year.

osuche 04-02-2007 01:53 AM

I'm dreading that the construction workers are coming back tomorrow morning

dicksbro 04-02-2007 02:58 AM

I'm thinking OF's recipe needs trying. :)

scotzoidman 04-02-2007 11:12 AM

Waking up to the wife's back in too bad shape for work, followed by discovering that the phones are DOA, is one suckass way to start the day...

osuche 04-02-2007 11:52 AM

Sometimes headaches are so bad that nothing solves them

IowaMan 04-03-2007 08:10 AM

It stopped raining here about 45 minutes ago and the streets are still flooded. Maybe I'll go for a swim instead of a walk this morning.

Eastern 04-03-2007 09:01 AM

Quiet enough to hear your own thoughts.

Damn that echo.

osuche 04-03-2007 12:13 PM

These people give great phone interviews. :)

IowaMan 04-03-2007 12:48 PM

IowaMan 04-05-2007 07:24 PM

If all goes to plan, and the weather cooperates, my contractor is supposed to start working on the new windows and siding for my house next week. :wish:

scotzoidman 04-06-2007 12:45 AM

Interesting, my contractor (also guitar player in my band) has promised to bring his boys around to start knocking down the leaning chimney & put in a patio door & cover this a.m.

IowaMan 04-06-2007 06:20 AM

Last night was the second night in a row I had a bad dream that woke me up. :(

sodaklostsoul 04-06-2007 08:32 AM

Sorry to hear that ((((((((((IowaMan))))))))))).

Well its been a long week and today is the day we lock the doors on my store. I will miss my boss who is going to a different store then me and I'm wondering how my new store will be. They are putting a few of us in my new store even tho she needs no help. So us keyholders will be taking hours from the cashiers. I'm sure there will be alot of resentment (sp). I've put in for my vacaton time so I will have the week off before I start the new store, so hopefully after todays shift I'm free for a week!!

I've missed Pixies, have checked in some during this week but was pretty wiped out to stay long. Hugs to everyone!!!

PantyFanatic 04-06-2007 09:28 AM

Pixies has missed you. :( I'm glad to hear you have another store to go to :thumb: (I must have missed that good news that was hanging over you for a while) and am sure the new operation will be keeping you busy.

Now about the week off :) .................... Are you charging up the camera batteries? :D

:wtp:

IowaMan 04-06-2007 10:28 AM

I've got a toothache. :(

ReaperWoman 04-07-2007 07:02 AM

I had not one, but two excellent dreams last night! One involved a bunch of Pixies in some sort of adventure-type dream that I frequently have. At least it beats the one I had a few days ago with the shrivelled people... *shudders*

scotzoidman 04-07-2007 08:01 AM

At least it wasn't about shriveled penises :P

The top 6 feet of the chimney came down last evening, & I wish I'd had a video camera to capture the moment...the good news is that everybody is still alive with all their limbs intact...it was one of those great guy moments, where ya get to see something demolished...

:wtp:

The camera batteries are charging for June when the child is gone, this week is strictly for Boog and me, I'm not sharing!! :nana:

While I'm on vacation this week the DM is suppose to call me and let me know for sure my new store and hours to work. So its not really set in stone and I could see this playing out in a few ways.........He'll call and tell me that the store I wanted will be too full and I need to go another I won't like or he'll tell me I need to float until a position opens up or I might get lucky and can collect unemployment until a position opens up. So I'll sit and wait for him to call, at least I can sit at home and have time off, even tho its snowing and I can't do the outside stuff I wanted.

IowaMan 04-07-2007 02:11 PM

I didn't realize just exactly how much crap I had stored on my old computer.

Pita 04-07-2007 06:13 PM

I don't like being without my Joe!

I don't like writing essays!

IowaMan 04-07-2007 08:46 PM

IowaMan is one tired fella and is going to go plant his butt on the couch and drift off while watching a DVD.

jay-t 04-07-2007 09:04 PM

scotzoidman 04-07-2007 11:58 PM

I had almost forgotten how hot WW's stories could be...

osuche 04-08-2007 01:20 AM

My sister's mom has a terminal brain tumor...I just found out tonight.

IowaMan 04-08-2007 07:05 AM

I'm terribly sorry to hear that, osuche. For sure you are all in our prayers.

((((((((osuche))))))))

...On a different note entirely... :weg:

I have wine :wine: and an empty house and I'm feeling verrrrrry horny. :slurp:

Who can get here the quickest? :teleport:

smithy020 04-08-2007 02:55 PM

i think i can run it pretty quick!

IowaMan 04-08-2007 08:08 PM

I believe I'm going to do a light upper body workout then grab a bag of ice for my increasingly swollen right knee. After that I may just get into bed and scratch the living hell out of an itch that has been building up for a bit.

OMG...that's awful news. I am so sorry...

(((osuche)))

Oldfart 04-08-2007 09:21 PM

We can only pray for merciful swiftness.

In my thoughts, osuche.

osuche 04-09-2007 01:38 AM

Thanks, everyone. She (my sister's mom) is the same age as our dad would have been if he were still alive...56. Which is much too young for a terminal tumor (is there ever a good age?)

I can't help but think how sad he'd be if he knew....and empathize with my sister, who is facing the death of her other parent. Sometimes life isn't fair.

mikaylasmummy 04-09-2007 03:40 AM

I love being a mum
