Yea!
:line: Go Cubs! :line: |
There's lots of the season left but........................... :nana::nana::nana::nana: :loveshowe:loveshowe: :loveshowe:
This just might be the year! :wish: I mean it's been since 1908 for crying out loud! No team could possibly go an entire CENTURY without winning the World Series could they? |

If anyone can do it, it would be the Cubs. You should have more faith in your team. |

The Red Sox did it in 2004, after 86 years!! But then they have great fans. ;) Good luck Cubs! |
Oh Teddy Bear............. I oughta spank you for the comment about the fans but nah. :x:
This will be the year. It's gotta be. |
:wine:
|
That sounds like a good idea osuche! :wine:
Definitely a much better option than hot chocolate, don't ya think? ;) And hey, even though they lost yesterday the Cubbies are still in first place. :D |
What the heck, you all already know I'm nuts so here's a bit more proof. Been listening to this first song since back in 1984 and it simply doesn't get better than this. And the second one, well it just sort of sums it all up for me. It's a bit long but it tells the story.
The ashes of Steve Goodman, the man who sings both songs, are buried under home plate at Wrigley Field. From one Cub Fan and Bud Man to another Mr. Goodman. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oe_v...related&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciczbU6I-J8 |
I too believe that this WILL be the year for a fabulous Cubbies!!! :line: :cabbagep:
|
And it's happened yet again! The Cubs are back in first place, this time all by themselves. :D
C'mon Cubbies you can do it!!! :wish: |
Go Cards
reining world champions |

Cubs vs. Yankees. That's the ticket. I'll wish for that, just for you, pal! And if the Red Sox make it instead, then I'm rooting for the Cubs. |
Quote:
Yeah, yeah I know. :( |
Go Phillies
|
OMG, it may just happen!!!! After winning again this afternoon, the Cubs now have a 2 game lead over Milwaukee. :loveshowe:
C'mon Cubbies!!! Just over a week left guys, you can do it!!! :wish: |
Well since the Cards are out of it;
GO CUBS |
CHICAGO CUBS 2007 NATIONAL LEAGUE CENTRAL DIVISON CHAMPIONS!!! |
now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about....
|
Did Sharni or CTG mention that Geelong just won the AFL Grand Final, decisively?
|
Congrats IowaMan!!!!!!!!!!!
|
|
What they ^^^ said. :line:
|
What's the Phillies up to?
/me mentions I don't follow baseball but I'm just curious |
7 games behind the Mets on Sept. 12 - today they won the NL East and are in the playoffs for the first time since Joe Carter knocked Mitch Williams on his ass in 1993....
They open against the winner of the 1 game playoff tomorrow between San Diego and Colorado.... |
Quote:
I wondered if just maybe you'd chime in with that moment in baseball history mm. :thumb: How about that both Mitch and Joe were former Cubs. :D I honestly can't believe how the Mets folded down the stretch though. The Phillies were playing great ball but oh man did the Mets do a choke job! |
Well, I guess I've got to wait until next year. :(
|
Lou Piniella is a moron.
btw IM - the season ended twice - 1) when Z was pulled in game 1 and 2) DeRosa hitting into the BL DP in the 5th tonight. |
Quote:
IowaMan, I know how important this was to you and all I can do is shake my head. But like you said " We have next year"!!! :D I refuse to give up!!!! |
You can always root for my RED SOX
|
Quote:
Not that I have any evidence to the contrary (that Piniella is a moron, that is), but I didn't see "Sweet Lou" throw any gopher balls or hit into any double plays... |
Quote:
Really sorry, IM. Kept hoping that your dream would come true. :tear: I do hope next year they'll be back! |
