I would have been shaking in my shoes too...

A bit of trivia from my old mechanic.... (I have never put this to a test though) He said that it isn't gasoline that starts a fire, it is the fumes that are flamable. He would often have a small bucket (pint) of gas a day or two old that he would toss his cigerettes into and never had a problem as the didn't put off any fumes...
