People have the option of guitar, bass, vocals, and drums in the game, so it makes sense, to me anyway, to include the bass since most folks likely don't have one. (Yes, a regular guitar controller will work fine, but they're trying to sell the look as well as the music.) They also sell a non-Beatles related bass controller that has a split strum bar so you can walk it with two fingers. Just some info on a game I have fun with, which is really all it is... A game of dexterity and hand eye coordination.

Hey, I always wanted to be Paul anyway!...'cept I'm not a lefty...
I suppose I was being a little grumpy & splitting hairs on the "who played what" dispute...the developers actually answered the question of "USSR" saying that they were more concerned w/peeps having fun being the Beatles, than historical accuracy. I'm with AZ (I wish!) on getting the guitar names right should be a major priority.
Aqua, I asked #2 son if he was interested in getting the Beatles/Rock Band, & he said his Guitar Hero controllers don't work w/RB...could be he got it wrong, but I didn't realize there was a difference....
