I too receive tremendous enjoyment from masturbation. I tend to consider it my primary sexual expression, even though I do also enjoy sex with my wife.

I must add that masturbating without the benefit of either erotic stories or pornographic material is less satisfying. Of late I have been pondering whether it is in fact masturbation or pornography I am enjoying. I conclude that it is both...combined...one without the other is pleasant, but not nearly as good as combined.

My enjoyment of masturbation does NOT seem to be effected by level of sexual activity with partners. For me, masturbation (with pornography) and partner sex fulfill two similar, yet different desires. Think of it as one being hunger, and the other being thirst. Each craving is satisfied in similar, yet different, ways.

With regard to your ability to masturbate for hours, yet remain able to enjoy sex with your wife later, that's great! I know that, at age 35, I find that I need to have about a 24 hour hiatus from masturbation before I can stay as erect, and mentally engaged, as I like to be when making love to my wife.
