I also prefer a dominate male, where as a dominate female scares the bejesus outta me. Too many stereo types surronding "mistresses" in the typical D/s relationship.
I've grown up having too many fantasies of having a man taking care of me, in every way. Caring, sweet, but able to take charge. I hate being in charge of anything, and I definatly prefer a man who will recognize that, and take charge himself.
I also don't mind serving a man in bed, doing exactly what he says, and doing it not because he tells me to, but because I want to.
I think part of the problem with getting people to understand why some people want this, is that it's a tough feeling to put into words without making it sound demeaning. To me, it's not. But I can't get that across to other's as to why I don't feel it is, either.
Most people not into a Dom/sub or Master/slave relationship can't understand what's in it for the sub or slave. Sure, it's easy to see where the Master or Dom gets pleasure, they get whatever they want, whenever they want. But it's tough explaining why a sub or slave would willingly want that.
Another tough stereotype to get past is that outsiders feel it's about pain, and abuse, and honestly, it isn't about that, either. Sure, there are people who want that, and do it for that, but it's by far not the rule towards it.
