Yesterday. Just about a week ago one of my daughter's informed us that she was expecting in February. The day before yesterday, she was getting some severe cramping and went to the doctor. The baby has died.

Thanks, everyone. My wife also lost a baby in a similar way (many years ago, now). She hadn't even been aware that she was pregnant. It does hurt, but we'll see our way through this, especially with the good wishes of friends like all of you lending support. No wonder I love this place.

I guess right now it's that I can't have anything but water tonight (I have a "fasting" blood test in the morning). Why is it, you're always most hungry and thirsty when you can't eat or drink anything.

I got news today that a close friend is fast losing a 3 yr fight with cancer as his organs started shutting down today and is unresponsive.

There's a guy who had been studying in my program who is from back home - he lives about 10 minutes away from my house, and we've known each other for a long long time. He's been in Montreal for 2 years now, basically doing the same courses as me, studying in the same lab (I'm one semester ahead of him). I learned today that he's getting kicked out of the program because his average is too low.
