Having one of my two remaining uncles pass away. Then speaking on the phone with the uncle still living...either he's very hard of hearing, or maybe the first stage of Alzheimer's, either way, I was sending, but he wasn't receiving too well...

My kitty had been battling a vomiting problem. We tried a lot of things to help her but nothing seemed to help. I wasn't surprised when she threw up again last night...I WAS surprised by the blood in it.
Kitty was put to sleep today....RIP Julia

The death of our former pastor (retired). He was helping a lady and slipped on the ice the other day and suffered a severe concussion. He died yesterday.
He married two of our children and baptized four. A wonderful administrator, he eliminated the parish debt and did much to help the parish to grow from just a few hundred to over 1100 families. He will be missed.

(((AngelicVampires))) Sorry to hear about your kitty
Dicksbro, how awful
The two last posts made me sad, as did some of the latest PostSecret entries.

Thank you, FWM. The visitation was yesterday. They planned for it to last from 2PM until 7PM with a short service afterwards. People started showing up at 10AM and it didn't stop until about 7:30PM last night. Then the service to a packed church. Our pastor had been Irish and his family were very uplifting as they remembered our pastor (and their loved one). A sad ... but somehow joyful service as we believe he's in a wonderful place now with none of the trials of this life. The funeral service will be later this morning and, again, it's expected that the church will be filled to capacity with an overflow into our parish hall where closed circuit TV will allow them to witness and be a part of the service.

Thank you for the update, dicksbro. It sounds like he was an enormously popular man and did great things for your community.
You will be in my thoughts this morning.
