Coming home last night from Peoria, I noticed the stations had all bumped their prices from $3.75 when I went in to Peoria up to $3.88 or $3.89/gal. Used to be they waited til Wednesday or Thursday for the price jump.

$3.94 - $3.95 seem to be the new level of gouging.

It was too cold to go for a walk this morning, but I found a station wth the price at $3.88. Wouldn't drive there just for that, but it was nice to save a little bit since I was there.

Just traded a picture of Grant ($US50) for 13 gal. of gas.
...... and it's TOTAL bullshit and greed.
Fact~
There is NO shortage!
This is a system out of control and could easily begin it's end. When pressure exceeds the strength of the support it will exert high stress on many parts until it crushes the weakest point. As we feel the squeeze, remember the very bottom is being strangled to death. Do not be shocked when hungry people are burning in the streets.

The price/gallon wasn't the thing this evening, but the fact that it nearly hit the $60 mark to fill the tank...that scares the hell outta me!

It should for more than one reason.

Went to see "Narnia: Prince Caspian" today at the mega-theatre in Pekin. Filled the car at a nearby station for $3.86/gal. That's nine cents less than here but hardly a bargain.

We have 20 pumps where I work and it's one of the busiest stations, next to that of Walmart. I hate seeing what a struggle it is for so many people, especially the college students who are often deciding between gas and eating. We also have a large Mexican population that come in every morning as they start their day and the gas prices are really hitting them hard. Then there is the elderly who are on fixed incomes and regale us with the, "I remember when," stories.
I agree with PF, this is BULLSHIT!!!

If gas prices impress you now, wait until the carbon emission limits begin to take effect!
