This ....
Two elderly friends, Larry and Ken, met in the park every day to feed the pigeons, watch the squirrels and discuss world problems.
One day Larry didn't show up. Ken didn't think much about it and figured maybe he had a cold or something. But after Larry hadn't shown up for a week or so, Ken really got worried. However, since the only time they ever got together was at the park, Ken didn't know where Larry lived, so he was unable to find out what had happened to him.
A month had passed, and Ken figured he had seen the last of Larry, but one day, Ken approached the park and -- low and behold!--there sat Larry! Ken was very excited and happy to see him and told him so.
Then he said, "For crying out loud Larry, what in the world happened to you?" Larry replied, "I have been in jail."
"Jail?" cried Ken. "What in the world for?"
"Well," Larry said, "you know Sue, that cute little blonde waitress at the coffee shop where we sometimes go?"
"Yeah," said Ken, "I remember her. What about her?"
"Well, one day she filed rape charges against me, and, at 89 years old, I was so proud that when I got into court, I pleaded guilty.
The judge gave me 30 days for perjury."

Surprising the crap out of my daughter.
I got a link last week from a friend where, upon entering information, your child could receive a wake-up call on his/her first day of school from either Corbin Bleu or Ashley Tisdale from High School Musical. I signed my daughter up to receive a call from Corbin Bleu--and promptly forgot about doing so.
When the phone rang at 7:00 this morning with an 866 number on caller ID, I didn't answer it. Who would be calling at 7:00 in the morning???? Before I got the voicemail, though, I remembered...so I let my daughter pick up the message.

Thinking about a great day my wife and I had yesterday. I was on a float in a Labor Day parade at a little town not all that far from Flanagan ( PF ). Afterwards we all met at a friends farm where we had a great dinner and were given a chance to drive and ride two of his tractors and his combine. These machines are fantastic. They use GPS guidance. When the corn and bean fields (4500 acres) were planted, he programmed the field layout into the tractor and basically only drove to the field. The tractor drove through the fields doing the planting while he sat in the air confitioned cab watching TV and monitored his progress on monitors. The same GPS program will go into the combine (starting today) and will allow it to retrace the path while harvesting his corn crop. Attached are just a very few pictures.
Oh, yeah, the red tractor is a restored "Farmall" tractor from the 50s. He has two older tractors he's retored.

I ran out of sugar this morning, but this was so sickly sweet my coffee curdled.
The other day a young person asked me how I felt about being old. I was taken aback, for I do not think of myself as old. Upon seeing my reaction, she was immediately embarrassed, but I explained that it was an interesting question, and I would ponder it, and let her know.
Old Age, I decided, is a gift.
I am now, probably for the first time in my life, the person I have always wanted to be. Oh, not my body! I sometime despair over my body, the wrinkles, the baggy eyes, and the sagging butt. And often I am taken aback by that old person that lives in my mirror (who looks like my mother!), but I don't agonize over those things for long.
I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, my loving family for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I've aged, I've become more kind to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend.
I don't chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not making my bed, or for buying that silly cement gecko that I didn't need, but looks so avante garde on my patio. I am entitled to a treat, to be messy, to be extravagant.
I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.
Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 AM and sleep until noon?
I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60&70's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love ... I will.
I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set.
They, too, will get old.
I know I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important things.
Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect.
I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face. So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver.
As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore. I've even earned the right to be wrong.
So, to answer your question, I like being older. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day. (If I feel like it)

E-bay rules!!
Internet auction website eBay today withdrew an unusual second-hand sale item, the country of Belgium, which had attracted an offer of 10 million euros ($A16.68 million).
"Belgium, a kingdom in three parts" was posted on the Belgian eBay site as offering "plenty of choice" despite the caveat that it comes with "300 billion of National Debt".
Offered in three parts - Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia - the accompanying blurb said the kingdom "can be bought as a whole (not recommended)".
The vendor also included as added extras "the king and his court (costs not included)".
EBay spokesman Peter Burin said the site could not host the sale of anything virtual or "unrealistic", the Belga news agency reported.
The 'vendor' was named as a former journalist, Gerrit Six. Offering his lot at an initial price of one euro ($A1.67), he saw 26 subsequent bids culminating in the 10 million euro offer today before the auction was halted.
The spoof sale was offered while Belgium is mired in a political crisis which has led to discussion over the country's future as a federal state.
Tomorrow marks 100 days since the country's general election with no sign of a coalition government being formed by the political parties in Dutch-speaking Flanders and French-speaking Wallonia.
According to the eBay spokesman, it wasn't the first time Belgium had been put up for sale.
"But the last time it wasn't a Belgian who made the announcement and it wasn't as well done or as amusing," said Burin

Our Federal politicians have just coined a beauty. A government spray gave us "an unrelenting negative smear campaign".
When I learned English as a none-year-old, a double negative is a positive. That makes it a campaign of unrelenting niceness.
I just wonder why they sounded so angry being nice?
